When a bullied kid fights back (video) – should he get in trouble?

kid being bullied fights back,

kid being bullied fights back,

I was stunned to see this – a kid is being bullied {and punched!}. The kid being bullied is just sitting there taking it, when he has enough and defends himself. Apparently they both got suspended.

Apparently the bully’s parents are pressing charges.  Maybe instead they should teach their kid not to bully?

What are your thoughts? Did the bully have it coming?  Do you think think the kid being bullied should have been suspended too?

  1. Yes, the bully did have it coming! This bullying is awful and I don’t see how the parents can press charges, it was self defense. The bully kept punching the kid in the face, what was the poor kid supposed to do? Keep taking it? Sorry, he deserved it! The victim should NOT be suspended!

  2. That is horrifying to watch, but, ya know, I can’t blame the kid who’s being bullied. I mean he stood there and took it as long as he did. I don’t think he should have been suspended because the school had to have known this was going on, what did they do to help the child out. As far as the bully’s parents suing ~ the case ought to be tossed. This is another case of parents not taking responsibility for their children and their bad behavior. Instead they ought to teach their kids to behave themselves and chalk it up as a learning opportunity.

  3. My sympathies were completely with the kid being punched — but when he lifted the bully over his shoulder and threw him to the ground I’ll admit my stomach lurched. Fighting back is one thing — in an equivalent way. If punches are being thrown at you, it should be OK to throw punches back. But lifting someone off the ground and throwing them to the ground? No.

    1. Do you think this is the first time this kid has bullied? I am sorry but the kid at least learned a lesson right? If you dont like being thrown around then you shouldn’t pick on other kids, especially ones twice your size. I don’t feel bad for the bully at all. Hopefully that body slam will send a message to that little punk and next time he will think twice about bullying other kids.

      1. I don’t feel bad for him either, really. He kind of brought it on himself. I would never wish a head injury or anything on him, but I am fairly certain he learned his lesson. Although now he will probably just pick on kids smaller than him.

  4. I think the little punk got exactly what he deserved. He actually looked surprised that someone stood up to him. I want to know, since the school obviously had cameras, have they not caught this kid acting like this before? And if so, did they do anything about it?
