10-Day Silk for Milk Challenge Giveaway

Silk for Milk Challenge

Silk for Milk Challenge

“I’m lactose intolerant.  I cannot tolerate lactose.”  The first time I heard that line on Seinfeld, I was curled up on the sofa hugging myself and trying to figure out why my stomach was killing me.  Later, I found out that I can’t tolerate lactose either.  After 30~something years of being a milk lover, my heart was broken.  What would become of my beloved coffee?  My morning cereal?  My bones?  Ok, I wasn’t really concerned about my bones but I was concerned about my coffee ’cause I big ol’ puffy heart my morning, afternoon and evening cups of joe.

For the past few years, I’ve been using creamer in my coffee but then I was offered the chance to take the Silk for Milk Challenge and I thought Hmmmm, why not exchange my creamer for Silk Soymilk?  So that’s what I did.  For one week I used Vanilla Soymilk and for the second week I used Chocolate Silk Soymilk.  Honestly, there was a bit of a taste and visual adjustment that I had to overcome.

With the Vanilla Silk, the coffee kinda took on a grayish cast like what you’d get when using skim milk.  Not quite so appetizing to look at but the taste was pleasant enough.  The Chocolate Silk made my coffee look and taste like a mocha from one of those chi chi coffee houses.  Coffee nirvana.  Silk has a sweeter taste than both milk and creamer, so once I figured out the Silk to coffee to sugar ratio I was golden.
