When I was younger, I absolutely loved reading. I was the kid that secretly stayed awake past bedtime only to hide under the covers of my bed so I could finish the next paragraph, the next page, or even the next chapter. As soon as I finished one book, I was onto the next. As much as I loved diving into book after book and seas of text, there’s always been something special about picture books. Having the beautifully crafted images paint a wonderful visualization of the storyline. For that, one of my most favorite book collections was always Paddington Bear.

Now, as an adult, I get to enjoy that sweet, adventurous bear once more. Not only in storybooks with my own children but on the big screen. Please allow me to introduce you to PADDINGTON.

From the beloved novels by Michael Bond and producer David Heyman (HARRY POTTER), PADDINGTON tells the story of the comic misadventures of a young Peruvian bear who travels to the city in search of a home. Finding himself lost and alone, he begins to realize that city life is not all he had imagined – until he meets the kindly Brown family who read the label around his neck that says “Please look after this bear. Thank you,” and offer him a temporary haven. It looks as though his luck has changed until this rarest of bears catches the eye of a museum taxidermist.
After celebrating his 56th birthday yesterday (according to one of the Brown family’s birthday edicts that marked Paddington’s birthday as the day that he came to live with them), Paddington is gearing up for an incredibly adventurous – or misadventurous – year.

Coming to theaters this Christmas, a small bear will make a big splash. PADDINGTON is sure to delight a new generation of children everywhere and we adults can reminisce about the adorable little bear that we all know and love. Now brought to life on the big screen, we get to celebrate Paddington’s birthday once more. After coming to live with the Brown family and they not knowing when his true birthday was, in addition to his “welcome to the family” birthday, they gave him a second birthday (just like the Queen!) and they all celebrate once more on Christmas.
This coming Christmas, we get to join in on the festivities with PADDINGTON the movie. Pack your bags and join the adventure!
