I am part of a close-knit group of women with children the same age as my youngest daughter. It is nice to be able to talk to a bunch of other moms dealing with the same things as me – different stages that our little ones are going through, various milestones that they are hitting, their likes and dislikes, sicknesses, etc.
One of the biggest topics for discussion was starting our little ones on solids. The various questions dealt with when to start solids, how to introduce different foods, what foods to try, and of course, whether to buy pre-made baby food or make your own. A lot of these moms chose to make their own food and raved about how good it was and how much healthier it was. Meanwhile, I was feeding my daughter store-bought food while saying “Sorry, but Mommy doesn’t have time to make all of your food from scratch.” Lame excuse, I know, but it’s true. I work full-time and don’t really want to spend my free time cutting, peeling, boiling, steaming, mashing, pureeing, whatever else needs to be done. I’m all about convenience.
Luckily, Béaba makes a product that is perfect for busy moms (as in, all moms!) who want to make their own baby food. The Béaba Babycook Pro allows you to make homemade baby food in about twenty minutes (or less). The Babycook Pro steam cooks your food, then blends or purees it to the appropriate texture.
One of the great things about the Babycook Pro is that you know exactly what is going into your baby’s food, without any added preservatives or sugar. In addition, you can make a lot of food at once, which may save you money in the long run. If you make a lot of food to freeze and save for later, the Babycook Pro will also defrost and reheat the food.
The Béaba Babycook Pro comes in several different colors (although I love the red!). Béaba also makes other products to help in your baby food making endeavors, including portion containers and utensils for feeding your little one. You can check out all of the various products on the Béaba website and find out where to buy them. You also have a chance to win some Béaba products below!

I think the first food he tried was sweet potatoes. They’re one of his favorites now.
My girls adored sweet potatoes. I wish I would have had this to prepare corn for them, it was always a veggie I was afraid of for choking and this would have been perfect! Thank you for the wonderful giveaway!

My daughter is 5 months old today & I just bought her some oatmeal cereal yesterday to try. Hopefully that will go well (she has acid reflux so we want to test the waters first) then we can try some veggies (my research shows start off with less sugary & flavorful to ease them in & so they don’t expect sweet every time). I really love the idea of avocado since it is so healthy (and delicious) but plan on starting with some yellows like squash.
My baby isn’t due until next month, but I think the first foods I would try her on are bananas and green beans.
