BRAVE On Demand – and our viewing party!

When I was asked to host a BRAVE viewing party, I was pretty excited.  I have been wanting to see this movie for awhile, so to be able to watch it with friends and have a party was even better!  I was sent an assortment of party supplies for the BRAVE viewing party, and  I set them up as I waited for the guests to arrive.

The looks on their faces were priceless. With a red carpet lining the entry way, and the BRAVE backdrop and balloons, it definitely spelled F-U-N.

It is every little girl’s dream to walk the red carpet. I was able to fulfill this dream for my friend and her daughter (but we also had a little boy and some teens!).  Her daughter was really excited about the party, so she brought her doll and happily walked the red carpet and posed for the camera. We had a really fun afternoon, as we watched Disney Pixar’s BRAVE On Demand.

Little boys aren’t quite as excited about the whole red carpet thing, but he WAS excited to see the movie:

More about our party shortly, but first a little bit about the star of our party – BRAVE:

Set in the rugged and mysterious Highlands of Scotland, Disney Pixar’s “Brave” follows the heroic journey of Merida (voice of Kelly Macdonald), a skilled archer and headstrong daughter of King Fergus (voice of Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (voice of Emma Thompson). Determined to change her fate, Merida defies an age-old custom sacred to the unruly and uproarious lords of the land: massive Lord MacGuffin (voice of Kevin McKidd), surly Lord Macintosh (voice of Craig Ferguson) and cantankerous Lord Dingwall (voice of Robbie Coltrane), unleashing chaos in the kingdom. When she turns to an eccentric Witch (voice of Julie Walters), she is granted an ill-fated wish and the ensuing peril forces Merida to harness all of her resources—including her mischievous triplet brothers—to undo a beastly curse and discover the meaning of true bravery.

The movie is really good!  The graphics were absolutely amazing and the story line was so cute.  We all fell in love with the triplets in the movie – if you haven’t seen BRAVE yet, be on the lookout for these little guys. They are so funny!  The other characters in the film were equally lovable, and the mom and daughter relationship can really hit home.

For our party, I thought it would be fun to decorate some cookies to snack on during the movie. The frosting and sprinkles were a big hit and the guests had a blast decorating the cookies.

The popcorn bags that were included in the party supplies made us feel like we were really at the movies – we all grabbed a bag of popcorn, our decorated cookies, and we settled in for the main attraction. Since it was a little chilly outside, we snuggled with blankets as well.

After the movie, everyone had fun coloring the BRAVE coloring sheets. I asked for opinions of the movie and everyone agreed that it was perfect for families (rated PG) and it is a movie that girls, boys, teens and adults will all enjoy (as proven by our guest list!).

After a fun-filled afternoon, we were all exhausted. I said good-bye to my guests and they gave me big hugs and lots of “thank yous”.

If you haven’t seen BRAVE yet, you must! It is a perfect movie for family movie night, and since you can now find BRAVE On Demand, it couldn’t be easier!

*I received party supplies, free of charge, as well as a gift card to host this viewing party. All opinions are my own.
