I just learned of a toy store that I *wish* was local to me. Brilliant Sky Toys & Books is a growing franchise toy store chain with 15 locations. They have a fantastic variety of enriching toys and books that open a whole new world for the reader.
I’ll be honest. I find the idea of shopping {for most anything} this time of year downright unnerving. I’m the type that has a battle plan in place. I want to get in, make a bee line for the item I intend on purchasing, buy said item, and get out as soon as humanly possible. But… after reading about Brilliant Sky Toys & Books, if we had a franchise store where I live I would be a regular there. Luv and I would peruse the books and toys together – I know we would love it!
While I love the blend of books and toys in one stop, I most appreciate that the company’s idea of “toys” is equal to mine. Dress up, puzzles, construction, crafts, experiments, and musical instruments – they all fall under the “toy” category in our home. I believe pretend play is a cornerstone in a child’s development and was delighted to see that the winners in the 4th annual Brilliance Awards fell in line with what our family values in children’s play.

Growing up, I loved playing with Calico Critters. I adored their endearing faces and their suede-like fuzz. Fast forward 25 or so years… *cough* Now, Luv can enjoy the little Hopscotch Rabbit Family and the Brilliance Award winning Adventures Tree House by Calico Critters {$69.95 ages 3+}.
Luv’s Thoughts:
I think the tree house for my rabbit family is fun. It’s SO cool. I like to play with Daddy, too. He plays the adult rabbits and I play the children rabbits. I love the swing, the sand bag with the bucket, and the slide. It is a big slide! When it is at the end of the table, the rabbits fly off the table. It’s funny!
I love that we are able to share an appreciation for sweet pretend play toys. The voices she gives each family member, the adventures they go on – all while creating memories together. That’s the best feeling!

I haven’t thought of Calico Critters in such a long time! Glad to know that they have stood the test of time. I love this place! And with their Brilliance Awards selection I can afford it! Thanks for sharing.
What an adorable playset! That certainly is MY kind of toy store also! Those are the types of toys I loved best when I was growing up — uh, a couple decades (or so) ago

This Sky Toy play set is too cute. I like that the characters are all little bunnies. I can see hours of imagination play happening with this set.

The rabbit family tree house is so precious. I’ll definitely check out Brilliant Sky for lots of Christmas present options! I think they are better than most toys out there.

This sounds like my kind of store. I love when kids sit and play for ages just using some basic toys and their imagination. My daughter loved the Calico Critters! They are so cute and they have so many different animals. Great toys!
