Britax Pioneer 70 Car Seat Review

Britax,car seat,booster seat

Having 4 kids I have been through my fair share of car-seats and booster seats. Jaxon has been in the same car-seat since he turned a year old and since he’s 4 now it was looking rather rough. He’s my small child, when Jeffery and Jaylin were 4 they easily went to a belt positioning booster seat; Jaxon can easily pass for a 3 year old at the moment. Britax sent me their new Pioneer 70 seat to review for Jaxon.

There are so many color choices for the Britax Pioneer 70 I decided to let Jaxon pick his own fabric out, he kept pointing to different colors as I scrolled but as soon as he saw the Kiwi color his eyes lit up and he got excited. I had a feeling that’s what he would pick since just about all of his favorite things are green. I love that Britax has so many choices for fabric in gender neutral patterns as well as boyish and girlish patterns.

The seat Jaxon was in before the Britax was very wide. It made it very difficult for someone sitting in the middle of that seat to buckle up and be comfortable. This Summer the kids’ friend was over and when we would be going somewhere the middle seat was needed. Of course they argued over who HAD to sit there! Now that I have the Britax Pioneer 70 it is less of a fight since the car seat and two more can fit comfortably in the back seat. Jaxon enjoys that is has a cup holder on each side, one for his drink and one for a snack!

The Britax Pioneer 70 will last Jaxon until he’s 110 pounds (in the booster mode)! He is currently in the 5 point harness and he can stay in that until he’s 70 pounds (Jeffery, who’s 8, is only 60 pounds). It has a lot of safety features including a base with safe cell technology, integrated steel bars, and true side impact protection.

  1. Very nice seat! I love the color too! Just wanted to mention that seats are often outgrown by height before weight. Once the child’s shoulders are over the top harness slots, it is outgrown. You’ll also want to make sure that the straps are not twisted or folded. He sure looks happy with his new seat!
