Now that school has started, that probably means that you are familiar with the hustle and bustle of getting the kids out the door, to school, and trying to find some time for yourself. Â Have I got something fun (and hopefully even relaxing) to share with you!
Oh what a fun day it was – I was invited to host a spa party with my daughter and I and our friends. Well sure – you don’t have to twist my arm to have a party, or indulge in a little pampering!
During our party we discussed skincare for teens, and dealing with acne. No teen wants to deal with acne ever, but especially as the new school year begins. Why not get a fresh start with a new school year?
My daughter invited two of her closest friends, and I invited mine, and we girls had a fantastic time! Â The nice folks at Clean & Clear sent us products to sample during the party, and also included gift bags full of products for the girls to take home with them! We enjoyed fruit punch, snacks, music and lots of laughter, as the girls experimented with the Clean & Clear products.
Look at all the fun products that Clean & Clear/Aveeno sent to us! We set up bowls with water and pulled out the really luxurious hand towels, headbands and they got down and dirty. It was really interesting that they started talking about acne and skincare all on their own really, so I just kind of listened in and asked questions when needed.
Of course, teenage girls will be teenage girls, so they had to have some fun with the eye masks (oh to be young and not actually need them yet). But hey, it is never too early to start right?
The girls really liked the Clean & Clear products, and explained their thoughts and favorite products for me in a video!
They also had some thoughts about the products. Â One of the girls (Amanda) said that she already uses the Clean & Clear Advantage Acne Spot Treatment and that it does dry out the skin, but it definitely takes care of the acne as long as you concentrate on individual acne spots, instead of the whole face. Â She said it stings for about 5 seconds after applying, but then that feeling goes away. Â She mentioned that it smells a little like medicine, and would love it even more if it had a light, pleasing scent. Â Amanda also loves the Clean & Clear Morning Burst Hydrating Facial Cleanser (as she mentioned in the video), because it smells really good and it exfoliates without being abrasive. It is very gentle. Â My daughter especially loved the Clean & Clear Deep Action Cream Cleanser, as it has a minty scent and is smooth and creamy. Â She said she could feel it working shortly after application. Â Rene’s favorite product was the Clean & Clear Blackhead Eraser Cleansing Mask. Â She liked the consistency, which is smooth and very “liquidy” at first, but thickens a bit and turns into more of a mask after a few minutes. Â She described it as a “slightly stinging, but good, tingly sensation.”. Â All of the girls noticed, after using the Clean & Clear products, that their skin felt smooth and that any oil buildup was gone.
The “older” girls had fun with the Aveeno products, which included Aveeno Stress Relief Body Wash, Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion and Aveeno Ultra Calming Makeup Removing Wipes. Â Since moms have to prepare for back-to-school too, we gladly took this time to enjoy pampering ourselves. Â It was fantastic!
We lathered up our arms and legs with the body wash and sniffed and sniffed. Oh my goodness, this body wash smells incredibly good! Â After rinsing, we agreed that our skin felt super soft and silky. Â We also learned that a little goes a long way – one of my friends used a bit too much and had quite a lather going, as well as a bit of laughter!
After we rinsed our skin with warm water, we applied the Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion and we loved how it felt. I noticed how nice my skin felt the next day too, which is probably because the lotion contains ACTIVE NATURALS® Colloidal Oatmeal and blended with emollients. According to Aveeno, it is “clinically proven to improve the health of skin in 1 day with significant improvement in 2 weeks. Formulated to help prevent and protect dry skin, it leaves skin feeling soft, smooth and naturally healthy-looking. It is gentle enough for everyday use, fragrance free, nongreasy, and noncomedogenic”.
After we were done with the body wash and lotion, we tried the Aveeno Calming Makeup Removing Wipes. Â We really loved the scent of these (SO much better than other brands we have tried that smell “sterile” (for lack of a better word). They took our makeup off easily and again, we were pleased with how our faces felt soft and smooth.
I’m not sure who was sillier – my daughter and her friends or us older gals. Â We loved the eye masks, which are perfect for reducing the puffiness underneath our eyes (I’m sure you are familiar with this if you are over 30 or so!), and we were even sent some cute little green ones in the shape of cucumber slices (see photo above – cute, right?)! Â Both kinds can be chilled and used when necessary.
This was such a fun spa party with Clean & Clear and Aveeno. Â Everyone thanked my daughter and I for such a wonderful few hours to let girls be girls, without any worries. Â I want to thank these two companies for products we love and trust – we are definitely fans!

I use to use clean and clear when I first started to have acne but it didn’t help (needed to go see a dermatoligest) and I still had issues but not as much. Now I’m 26 and I still have break outs here and there but I dont think that it AS bad as it use to be (or maybe I just don’t care as much since I’m out of school lol) But I do love aveeno for my skin (body) and I might have to try some of the black head stuff from clean and clear since mine dont seem to leave lol I just have to be careful since I do have sensitive skin.
I would really like to try the Blackhead Erasing Cleansing Mask. I have always been a fan of Aveeno products, but have never tried that particular product. Thanks for the great review.

I am jealous #1 , haha, after that I think it’s a great positive way for young girls to feel good about themselves and find ways to deal with skin issues. If you feel better and healthy on the outside then you will feel better on the inside.
I have struggled with acne since I was 11 or 12 years old. I am 45 now and still break out from time to time. I will have to try clean and clear . Thanks for the review.

The blackhead eraser cleansing mask is great. It works really well. The party looked like so much fun. My daughter is only six so no acne yet…however, she does have issues a few times a year with ezcema and the Aveeno cream works awesome.

I’ve always been a big fan of Aveeno products. They’re gentle yet effective. I like to use as many natural products as possible when I do a facial and oatmeal is one of the ingredients that I feel makes Aveeno work so well.

My mom taught me to take good care of my skin. It was a real point of bonding between us. We loved to put mask on and do each others’ toes. Well into her seventies, Mom would learn about new products she thought we should be using. I miss her so much! Nice to see another mom passing on the good word about taking care of your skin.

It looks like you guys had a great time! I use the clean an d clear morning burst and I love it! It wakes me up and gets rid of all the oil! I also use aveeno no for me and my kids! It feels good on the skin and works well with sensitive skin!

Clean & Clear has always been a good product for teens with acne. As far as hand lotions go, Aveeno has always worked pretty well for me and it’s reasonably priced where I live so I do use it from time to time, especially during the Winter months. Wasn’t aware Aveeno made a body wash though. I’ll have to give that a try also 🙂

My girls have tried hte clean and Clear but not the Aveeno. My 14 year old would love to have a partly like this. She plays so many sports and is out in the elements so much, sweaty and all, this line might be a great fit for her.
