The back to school dust has settled… or has it? It never really does, does it? There are plenty of opportunities to teach and have fun with your child{ren}! Reeves International sent us two items to check out and I couldn’t be happier.
It All Adds Up Addition and Subtraction Keyboard and Multiplication Magic
Both of these keyboards are sturdy and full of math problems! Perfect when introducing addition and subtraction {or in our case; multiplication} to the littles. Luv has had a good handle on Addition and Subtraction, but last month we introduced her to multiplication! She has continued to learn with help from Multiplication Magic.
I thought both keyboards would be welcomed in our lesson room as I can see these getting a lot of use between Luv and Bugsy {and if/when we have a third}. For homeschooling, road trips, and to silence those “I’m bored!” declarations. I especially like that there are no batteries involved. *smirk*
Luv’s Thoughts:
I think they are cool. I want to take them with us in the car, too. I think that the numbers are a little hard to see, but they work.
I agree that the number under the button can be hard to see, especially given the finger strength of a five year old. But the Multiplication Magic keyboard is a great visual tool for her especially to understand that multiplying two numbers, no matter the order, will result in the same answer {e.g. 2×3=6 3×2=6}. Once she discovered that, she excitedly showed me all the equations that used the same numbers.
The Mister’s Thoughts:
They carry a form of instant gratification not found in flash cards. The child mechanically expresses what the answer is, it’s a lot like a game.
Buy:
Both the It All Adds Up Addition and Subtraction Keyboard and Multiplication Magic are available to purchase at Reeves International for $18 each. While you’re there, you’ll see even more fun toys for both younger and older kids! The Reeves Toys Scrambled Eggs Shape Sorter, Tolo’s electronic cash register, and a Geomag starter kit – just to name a few.
