I always dread this time of year (and this time in Spring), as it is such an adjustment to get used to new daylight hours, it getting dark earlier, etc. It used to really bother me when my kids were little! But along with the dread, is a good feeling of knowing I am doing the right thing in protecting my family. It is always nice to be aware of this very important task, and I thank the Energizer Change Your Clock, Change Your Batteries reminder!

It just makes sense to get in the habit of changing the batteries in smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors every time you change the clocks. It is so important, yet very simple. Keeping our family safe is our number one priority. We are always diligent about making sure that our kids are buckled in carseats properly, and we keep an eagle eye on them when they are out playing or at the store with us. Why wouldn’t we do the same to keep our kids safe at home?

While you are changing the batteries, it’s also a great time to check on your other electronic devices to make sure that the batteries are still good. Some examples are home surveillance cameras, flashlights, portable chargers, smart thermostats, etc.
October was National Fire Prevention month, and Energizer and the International Association of Fire Chiefs want to make sure you make safety a priority. That extra hour that you will get on November 6th would be a perfect time to replace the batteries. Don’t forget about battery powered medical devices either!
For 29 years, the Energizer® brand has partnered with the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) to help keep families safe through the Change Your Clock Change Your Batteries™ program. Every fall, Energizer® and the IAFC work to remind people of the simple, life-saving habit of changing and testing the batteries in smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors, along with all of your home safety devices, when setting the clocks back for daylight saving time.
Did you know that Energizer provides smart energy for smart devices? Yep – they have all kinds of sizes and products to take care of all of your needs, including internet & smart phones, etc. These devices enhance the safety and security of your home devices.
We have always depended on Energizer batteries and pretty much only buy them. The only exception would be if needed batteries right away and they weren’t available. When my husband and I were dating (some 20-odd years ago), we both loved the Energizer bunny. I actually bought a plush Energizer bunny for him way back then, and we still have it! He has moved from house to house with us, and we will always keep him. This guy is probably 23 years old or so, and is #StillGoing! Look at his flip flops. Just look at them!

Make sure you visit the Energizer website, where you can find some fun fire safety coloring pages for the kids.
Thank you again for the reminder – Energizer Change Your Clock, Change Your Batteries!

Always reliable, Energizer batteries, good tip!
It is so important to remember to change the batteries in the smoke detectors because a dead smoke detector is no help. I got a big package of energizer batteries just for this!
Thank you for the reminder I always forget about time changes!
I usually change mine on New Years day but love the tips and reminder to everyone to change those batteries. We buy MANY of their batteries in our home.
Thanks for the reminder to change the batteries! We love using Energizer batteries.
So important to make sure to change the batteries in the smoke detector and be safe in case of a fire.
i always tend to forget ,thanks for the reminder
I don’t change them until I can see that they are starting to die, and that can take several years. Why do they take several years? Because I do use Energizer batteries. They are the best.
The time change is a great reminder to change your smoke detector batteries! I did just that this weekend!
Great reminder! Energizer is a great brand of batteries.
Thanks for the reminder. We have a sprinkler system in our apartment and they test the detectors every year.
It’s important to remember. Thanks for the reminder.
Time change = Battery Change is a great way to remember to do something important.
Thanks for the reminder…Energizer batteries are great!!
I think that this is a great routine to get into. My alarm battery always dies at 4AM never when I’m awake. Energizer batteries are a reliable product. I usually buy that brand if I can.
Thanks for the reminder. I did a study in school to test which has a longer battery life Duracell or Energizer and found that Duracell had a longer battery life each time.
That is a good reminder.
Love the Energizer batteries and Bunny.
Important reminder! Energizer batteries really are very good too!
I too always change my batteries during the time change its a great way to remember
I always have Energizer batteries on hand. I live in a Hurricane area, and we do get a lot of storms. If someone spits across town, we lose our power. It’s co-op, and they really don’t care.
I really should get rechargable batteries, I would feel more comfortable changing my batteries if I weren’t throwing them away everytime. And Energizer is my battery of choice. Most everyone has more remotes now; battery operated clocks; toys; flashlights. I even use motion detector lighting outside with LED lights, that last a long time, but eventually you are going to have to change the batteries.
