Gain Your Own Victory with Famous Footwear & Reebok

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Reebok. I received a Famous Footwear gift card to purchase a pair of Reebok shoes to facilitate my review and to thank me for participating.

Ladies! Put your hands up! Ladies! Make noise!

Sorry fellas, but this one is for the girls.

How many of you love shoes? Okay, okay, obvious question, I know. I used to be the same way. Yes, “used to be.” All through high school I was the girl that had a pair of shoes to go with every few outfits. After growing up as your cliché “has too many shoes” kind of girl, motherhood was a kick in the face when it came to my footwear. Today, I have three pairs. The essentials only – sneakers, classic black heels, and flip flops. Wait, I was gifted a pair of Uggs from Santa, too. That brings my total up to four. Honestly though, after life with boys, I’ve toned it down… a LOT. I’m not quite so picky over whether or not my shoes match my outfit or if it can be considered cute. I’m practical and I kind of like it that way. Sure, I’d love to have the Mariah Carey walk-in closet just for shoes but who am I kidding? I’d much rather outfit my little ones with the cool gear than pick up a pair of shoes for myself. Mine, they work. They do their job. I’m not walking around barefoot and that’s what matters, right? Then again… maybe not. These are my current shoes:

Quite obviously, I think that it may be time for a new pair of shoes. This time, just for mom! In the midst of all of the back-to-school shopping hoopla, Mommy needs some new kicks, too. Now, the question is, what shoes do I buy? Shopping for the little ones is simple but, since I haven’t bought myself anything in a while, I wasn’t sure where to begin. We ended up heading to a large, chain company shoe store because I figured that they had everything for everyone. Famous Footwear, a store that I’ve been into from time to time, was my choice. The family friendly atmosphere and the massive selection had me sold.

As a woman who formerly loved shoes, I’ve never been brand specific. Throughout my life, I’ve probably dabbled in a bit of everything and, again, here we were. Standing in a store surrounded by numerous brands, sizes, colors, styles and more, I thought it would take hours (something I don’t have while shopping with children in tow). Then, as if a glimmering spotlight had come down from shoe heaven, I found it. I found MY pair.

Love it

Well, actually, I found two but in an attempt to dull down on my flashy and bright color favorites, I chose one of the two Reebok pairs that caught my eye. The Reebok Women’s Realflex Run in this snazzy little color scheme (grey, sherbet, and coral) soon became mine.

I nearly chose the Reebok Women’s Sublite TR in coral, purple, and yellow but decided to save my guys from being blinded by its colorful awesomeness. You’re welcome boys.

Why Reebok you ask? For starters, who could deny the cute factor found in these shoes? Yes, I may have succumbed to my shoe girl past but, heck, they are Reeboks after all. Dominating the sneaker industry and then some for over fifty years certainly has to count for something. I will admit that I was surprised to see only a few different Reebok styles in my local store (more available for men) and, afterward, I did notice that there were more options available online. All in all though, they did have a pretty decent selection of Reebok shoes to choose from.

In the end, though, it was this particular shoes’ classification that snagged me. When it came to sneakers, I’ve always bought based on what the shoe was best for. Typically, despite my height, that was basketball. After years of playing the sport, I quickly learned that the right shoes were a necessity for good performance. Just like a pair of heels are best worn with a dress. It just makes sense. These shoes, my snazzy new Reebok sneakers, are best for running. Its cushioned footbed, textile lining, and mesh upper fabric made for a wonderful lightweight running shoe – perfect for jogging with the kids.

Normally, nine times out of ten, you can find me in my flip flops. It’s just my thing. However, since getting these new Reebok sneakers from Famous Footwear, I’ve probably gotten up to a good 50/50 on the sneaker to flip flop ratio. If we’re heading out for anything that involves running or requires closed toe shoes, you can bet that these are on my feet. Of course, jogging along the sidewalk and strolling through the park are a breeze but, as a completely unexpected bonus, I can actually walk rather easily through the sand with them! For any of you that have even bothered to attempt doing so with shoes, I’m sure that you know it is no easy task. These Reebok shoes have gotten me out of my flip-flop slump and back into the game, quite literally.

And at only $59.99, they were a bargain, too! During my shopping, I noticed that Famous Footwear was (and is) currently having a sale (shop online or print your coupon from the Famous Footwear website) on all footwear.

Of course, I decided to take them up on their offer. With a Buy One Get One Half-Off special, I even picked up a pair for my mother-in-law. After raising four kids of her own, she has become all too familiar with the whole “take care of the family and let Mom slide” scenario. With all of her babies now grown, she deserved a little something just for herself. That is exactly what she got. Choosing another great Reebok option, the Fitnis Rush style is very comfortable with its added cushioning and is looking to be a great choice for her.

Even after all that, I still had a bit of money left over and decided to go back to my momma mentality and pick up a back-to-school pair for my little guy as well. Despite still, technically, shopping for the kids, it was a great change to get something for myself this time around. We moms get overlooked (often by our own doing) all too often and, as much as we love our families, we cannot forget ourselves. After all, someone has to keep up with the kids. Reebok and Famous Footwear can definitely help you do just that. The whole family wins and victory truly is yours!
