Aches and Pains Don’t Stop My Holiday Hero! Who is Yours?

I have received information about the promotion from McNeil Consumer Healthcare Division of McNEIL-PPC, Inc., the makers of TYLENOL®. The opinions stated are my own. This is a sponsored post for Kin Community.

Aches and pains on a daily basis? Yep, that’s me! Due to my recent neck surgery, and a few issues with my knees, it is sometimes a struggle to get through the day. It is also how many others live, and quite frankly, it saddens me. TYLENOL® wants to make sure holiday aches and pains don’t get in the way of you and your loved ones enjoying the season*, and they have something really fun and exciting happening right now – something that just might help those you love who struggle with aches and pains, during this busy holiday season.

Do you know someone who goes above and beyond for others during the holiday season? I am sure we all have somebody special who comes to mind, just as I do. My best friend, Julie, suffers with a great deal of pain on a daily basis, but it doesn’t stop her for caring for those she loves. You see, Julie has had two major neck surgeries, and just about everything she does causes a great deal of pain. Whether she is standing for too long, sitting wrong, or sometimes doing nothing, she is constantly hurting. I feel so bad for her, as I watch her grimace with each move.

I worry about her during the holiday season, as in addition to life’s regular chores, she will probably be hurting a little more due to the preparation and festivities of the season. One thing I know though, is that her children will not suffer because of her suffering. She puts on a brave face for them always, and carries on with life’s demands and the needs of her children. Her kids are the most important things in her life, and I don’t think they know how miserable she is most of the time, because she does not let her pain stop her from doing daily chores and fun activities with them. At any given time, you can find her at the park with her young daughter, or sharing laughs with her teenage son. She and her children live with her elderly mother, and since her mother cannot drive and is fragile, Julie does all of the errands, cooking and cleaning. She is constantly on the go, doing for others, but I know that she would just like to be able to crawl into bed and give her body a rest. It just doesn’t seem to happen.

I know this holiday season will be especially rough on my friend, as she has developed a few other health issues in addition to her neck. But I know her, and she will go above and beyond to make sure that her children and her mother are well cared for and that they will enjoy the spirit of the holidays. Her kids are so lucky to have her as their mother, and I hope someday they will appreciate that it was always a little extra hard for her to do some of these things. My wish for my friend, my hero, is that she can get some relief over the next few weeks.

  1. Julie sounds like a great friend from all of the stories I’ve heard from you. How sad that she has to live with such pain on a daily basis, but kudos to her for sticking through it, for the sake of her kids!

That sounds like a great contest too – thanks for sharing!
