One of my fondest memories of my teen years was a trip to Europe I took with my mom. We spent 28 glorious days discovering several different places, and it was the trip of a lifetime. Though I enjoyed most of the countries, Italy was my favorite. In Italy we samples some of the best food ever, enjoyed local wines (Yes, I was old enough to drink there!), met friendly people and we enjoyed just being a part of it. We shopped in Rome, rode the Gondolas in Venice, and ate an incredible dinner in Tivoli. Of course these are just a small sampling of everything we did, but those are the parts that really stand out to me.
I will cherish these memories forever – Mom passed away in 2006, but it was such a special time for us to enjoy each other’s company and become even closer. I want my daughter and I to have the same experience, but instead of touring all of Europe, we might just concentrate on Italy, and enjoy one of the Italy holidays that are available online. I dream of a month long vacation, just my daughter and I. I envision laughing, dining and shopping. I hope that she will also be able to pass on this tradition to her own child one day.

What wonderful memories! I’d love to go to Italy and even better if it was a special way of connecting with a teen daughter.

What an incredible vacation to share with a daughter. My big connection with two of my girls were to go out to the Price is Right and met Bob. Slept on the sidewalk like a bunch of college kid concert groupies. LOL.I cant even imagine having that much time to hang out with my girls in such a beautiful and enriching locale! By the time the youngest is grown my oldest daughter will be 38 and I will be sporting a cane or walker probably. No lie. Grab it Jennifer! you can MAKE it happen!

Such wonderful memories of your mom and I know that your daughter would LOVE to go with you to Italy.
I know I’ve mentioned that Bill took me on a Med cruise for our 10th anniversary and we adored Italy and feel the same way about the country as you do. The people, the food and the scenery are absolutely wonderful. I, too, want to go back some day.
