ICE AGE: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. My family has always enjoyed the Ice Age movies, so we were especially excited to receive Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs on DVD to review. The Ice Age movies appeal to audiences of all ages, which I really love. It is rare to find movies that my husband and I can enjoy with our kids. This movie does not disappoint!
The third film in the outrageously popular Ice Age franchise, the sub-zero heroes return another wild and fun adventure. Scrat is still trying to nab the ever-elusive nut (while maybe finding true love); Manny and Ellie await the birth of their mini-mammoth; Diego the saber-toothed tiger wonders if he’s growing too “soft” hanging with his pals and Sid the sloth gets into trouble when he creates his own makeshift family by hijacking some dinosaur eggs. On a mission to rescue the hapless Sid, the gang ventures into a mysterious underground world, where they have some close encounters with dinosaurs, battle flora and fauna, run amuck, and meet a relentless, one-eyed dino-hunting weasel named Buck.
The coolest animated comedy of the year, Ice Age: Dawn Of The Dinosaurs features hilarious performances from Ice Age veterans Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Denis Leary, Queen Latifah, Seann William Scott and Josh Peck, along with newcomers Bill Hader (Forgetting Sarah Marshall), Kristen Wiig (“Saturday Night Live”), Jane Lynch (“Glee”) and Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead).
We thoroughly enjoyed this movie – just as we suspected we would. The extra features were very fun and entertaining.
Good news – Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs is available now on DVD and Blu Ray. The holidays have a way of sneaking up on us (on me at least), and well, it is time to start shopping! Make sure you pick up a copy (or several) of this movie for those special people on your list who love a good laugh. It is also available in a Double DVD pack, which includes The Scrat Pack!
