How many of you have seen the new Jurassic World movie?
For those of you who may not have seen my earlier postings, my family and I and huge (really huge!) fans of the entire Jurassic Park franchise. So much so that, prior to the new movie having even been filmed, our son actually sent off a crayon-scribbled letter to Steven Spielberg requesting that a new movie be made. Now, while I’m fairly positive that a single toddler-written request was not the main reasoning behind the new release, it’s a fun little story that we can hang on to. With that being said, our house has pretty much been all Jurassic all the time leading up to and now since Jurassic World was released in theaters.
I cannot even begin to tell you how much we enjoyed seeing the movie soon after its release, nor can I find the proper words to tell you how thrilled we all were to then see it in IMAX during its re-release. Not only is the Jurassic World movie absolutely amazing in itself but the way that it played off of the original franchise stories made it even greater.
Twenty-two years after the events of Jurassic Park, Isla Nublar now features a fully functioning dinosaur theme park, Jurassic World, as originally envisioned by John Hammond. After 10 years of operation and visitor rates declining, in order to fulfill a corporate mandate, a new attraction is created to re-spark visitor’s interest, which backfires horribly.
Going back to the original Jurassic Park movie, there was a simple two-word line that has stuck with me over the years. Whether it was the way in which it was said or the context of the screenplay, “clever girl” was one of those lines that stood out in the original film and, now, it has found a way to work its way into the new Jurassic World by way of action as opposed to words. Just take a look and see what I mean:
She was designed to be bigger than the t-rex. She ate her sibling. She is the asset out of containment. She remembers. She kills for sport. She may just be a genetically engineered dinosaur but, at the end of the day, boy, is she a “clever girl.”
With this fierce female prowling through the grounds of Jurassic World, there is no telling what can or will happen.
The Jurassic World theme park lets guests experience the thrill of witnessing actual dinosaurs, but something ferocious lurks behind the park’s attractions – a genetically modified dinosaur with savage capabilities. When the massive creature escapes, chaos erupts across the island. Now it’s up to Own (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) to save the park’s tourists from an all-out prehistoric assault.
I’m certainly not going to spill the beans or blood in regard to how the movie itself plays out but I will say that there are a lot of frighteningly fabulous twists and turns, excitement for all ages, and plenty of teeth to go around.
We have been enamored with and ridiculously overjoyed about the recent release of Jurassic World so much so that we’ve since stocked up on plenty of merchandise, goodies, and toys, and even celebrated a birthday party that was accordingly themed. After all, who doesn’t love a good t-rex?
A few years ago, around the same time of the aforementioned letter for Steven Spielberg, we had our very first Jurassic themed party. Our son’s reasoning behind the letter and his hopes for a new movie were based on the fact that he could not add anything Jurassic Park themed to his birthday wish list. There had been no movies made in his lifetime and I was quite literally searching the interwebs for gifts. You know, the “collector” and “vintage” items that had been saved from the 90s. Thankfully, however, this summer’s release of the long-awaited continuation of the story – Jurassic World – finally turned the tables. Not only was our son able to have the Jurassic-themed party of his dreams but, thanks to a great number of family a friends, he is now the proud owner of a wonderful collection of dinosaur goodies.
Of course, through the now seemingly endless amount of dinosaur-related toys, books, and more that are scattered throughout our house, there is one particular item that stands out during all of the prehistoric play. Any guesses, folks?
The greatest dinosaur of all time, the meanest, the biggest, the loudest, and (the most heroic?) the coolest – it’s the tyrannosaurus rex!
The powerful Tyrannosaurus rex stomps onto the Jurassic World scene! This Ultimate Tyrannosaurus Rex figure features an intimidating stomping action when kids press down on its body. Push down on its tail and this beast will let out a ferocious roar before its mouth shuts.
I cannot even begin to describe the way that our boys’ eyes lit up when they found out that they were able to bring home their very own t-rex. Thanks to the amazing folks at Hasbro, the kids’ roar-inducing, feet-stomping, imaginative play has now become a reality. And as if the whole dinosaur craziness wasn’t already at enough of a peak in our house, we’ve upped the game even more by welcoming another bit of fun news. Please allow me to introduce to you, the latest in prehistoric-themed news, the much-anticipated release of Jurassic World, now available on Digital HD!
It has been just over three months, sixteen weeks to be exact, 112 days of the kids repeatedly asking us “when can we watch it again?” With the official DVD release not being until later this month, I began running out of answers for them; and out of movie clips and trailers to watch on repeat. Typically, when we purchase a new movie, we buy the DVD, Blu-Ray, and Digital HD copy just so we’ll have all three versions on hand. However, it wasn’t until now that I was aware of the fact that the digital version could be purchased on its own. Talk about a sanity saver! With a weekend forecast full of horrid weather and, now, news that Jurassic World is available on Digital HD, well… I’ll give you one guess what we’ll be doing. And (bonus!) the little guy finally gets his opportunity to hear back from the cast and crew thanks to the all new behind the scenes features!
With our tyrannosaurus rex in tow, an astonishingly amazing movie finally available on Digital HD, and maybe a good bowl of popcorn, our weekend is certainly set. Will you be joining us in the prehistoric celebration of all things Jurassic World?
The #1 movie of the year proves that once again, dinosaurs rule the earth.

It’s been a long time since I’ve seen one and I really don’t have a favorite scene. I just enjoy the whole movie.
We watched Jurassic World this summer and loved it . The first movie is still my favorite but the last one was really good. My favorite scene has always been with the brontosaurus in the tree in the first movie.
My favorite scene from the first movie was when they’re hiding in the kitchen from the velociraptor. So scary!! I haven’t seen the new movie yet but can’t wait to!
I loved when they were hiding in the kitchen in the first movie and all the pots and pans were rattling.
I’ve only seen the first one and that was when it came out. I can’t think of a favorite scene. I enjoyed the entire movie.
I haven’t seen the new movie yet (obviously) but I really want to.
My favorite part of Jurassic World was the final battle with the T-Rex, Indominous Rex, and Velociraptor (Blue). It was a great team effort to get rid of the bad guy.
I love in the first one when the guy gets eaten off the toilet.
My favorite is the TRex scene from the first movie.
My favorite scene was when the T-Rex first appeared in the first Jurassic Park movie! He’s my favorite dinosaur, and he looked real!
My favorite scene from Jurassic World, was towards the end of the movie, when the T-Rex fought the Indominus Rex! That was iconic fun right there!
I like the part from Jurassic World when the mutated shark thing jumps out of the water.
My favorite part was from Jurassic Park, when Allen and the two kids were running across the field with the dinosaurs.
My favorite part is when the mosasaurus eats the shark.
I like the first movie, where they are being chased by the T-Rex and he hits shift and they almost get eaten
I like the velociraptors from the first movie.
I thought the best part of Jurassic World was seeing how they trained the Velociraptors.
I have not seen this latest installment but from the earlier films, I was just awed, no particular scene comes to mind!
I’ve seen all of them including Jurassic World and my favorite scene is the fight scene in it. That scene is action packed and you don’t expect what happens to happen, proving that the actual dinosaurs rule and not the genetically altered ones. I didn’t want to spoil it for others. lol
From the first movie, I loved it when he laid down on the dinosaurs belly and he moved up with the breathing.
My favorite is the original movie and favorite scene is when the kids are stopped in the jeep and suddenly you hear the dino footsteps coming nearer.
My favorite scene was in the first one where the T-Rex eats the guy hiding in the bathroom stall.
I have never watched any of the movies.
I haven’t seen the new movie. My favorite scene is where the kids are being chased in the kitchen by the raptors!
I haven’t seen jurassic world yet. My favorite was when they first saw the dinosaurs while driving in the jeep.
I love the original movie. My favorite scene is when TRex eats the guy on the toilet
My favorite from Jurassic Park was the first T-Rex scene and seeing the water rippling in the cup. In Jurassic World I loved the final dino battle scene.
I love the Jurassic Park movies and I’m going to have to say my most favorite scene from all of them are from the very first movie where the raptors are chasing the kids in the kitchen of the visitors center! From Jurassic World my favorite part is where the Indominus Rex attacks the gyro-spear with the boys in it.
My favorite par in Jurassic World is when all of the dinosaurs are out in the main plaza area of the theme park and everyone is running like crazy and then there’s the one guy who makes sure he saves his drinks.
my favorite scene is where Chris pratt is stopping the velocirators from attacking the guy who falls in the cage
Unfortunately, I have not seen any of the movies.
