As many of us are in full swing of the back-to-school chaos, the inevitable hectic morning routine is quickly approaching. I think I speak for a good portion of society when I say that being a morning person doesn’t come so naturally for many. And, quite frankly it only gets worse as you get older. I think that somewhere along the line we eventually get the hang of things but, for now, we drag along like zombies without help. Whether that help is coming from Mom and Dad dragging the older kids out of bed in the morning or even the little kids pouncing on top of us as the sun rises, we all need that little morning push. Then, of course, there’s that good ol’ morning cup of joe. Am I right?
Little kids seem to have it easy. They wake with the sun and couldn’t be happier for the new day’s arrival. It’s many of us in the middle folks – teenagers through middle-aged adults – that seem to need the biggest shove. Did you know that there have even been recent suggestions to start high schools at later times? It’s been proven that many in that age group perform and even think better later on in the day. However, it’s often the late high school students and the college-aged folks that we seem to ask the most of. Think about it. Not only do they have to go to school and work their tails off during the day but many of them are also expected to have after school jobs that they have to then schedule around after school activities such as club and community involvement and sports. I think that college students may very well have it the worst. On top of everything, they are just finding their way in the world while attempting the transition into adulthood and still retaining their youth. Heck, I’d be tired, too!
Having previously worked at a coffee shop, I cannot even being to tell you how often young people walk through those doors. They need that morning pick-me-up just as much as you and I but, let’s face it, the cost of a daily cup of coffee doesn’t exactly fit into a college kid’s budget. Surely one would say something along the lines of “just brew it at home,” but that statement in itself opens up a whole new can of worms.

I recently had the opportunity to try out this amazing system first hand. Our kitchen is extremely small and our current brewing system is a bit large for our counter space or lack thereof.
