Entertaining Crafts and Learning Activities from Kidable Adventures

little thinker box, giveaway

My oldest daughter started preschool this year and is always talking about (and bringing home) pictures, drawings, and crafts that they do in school to learn about letters, numbers, holidays, etc.  I am always looking for new and fun activities that we can do at home that she will enjoy doing, while learning at the same time. That’s why I am excited about Kidable Adventures!

Kidable Adventures
Kidable Adventures provides monthly subscription boxes that contain several crafts and learning activities for children, each centered around a theme.  We received a Little Thinker Box and a DoodleBug Busy Bag to try out.

Kidable Adventures
The Little Thinker Box is designed for children preparing for preschool or kindergarten.  You can order the Little Thinker Box in a 1-month subscription ($28), 2-month subscription ($54), 3-month subscription ($75), 6-month subscription ($138), or 12-month subscription ($252) in which you pay upfront, or you can choose a monthly subscription where you are billed each month and can cancel at any time ($25/month).

The theme of our Little Thinker Box was “On the Farm.”  There were so many fun activities that were included in the box!  We started off reading The Berenstain Bears Down on the Farm book.  Then we moved on to some of the activities.  We first made a horse hand puppet out of a paper bag and foam pieces.  How cute is our horse???

My daughter then created her own farm scene with stickers and a sheet of paper with a farm background.  She had a lot of fun with this and her farm was full of animals, hay, corn, farm buildings, and more.  It is certainly the busiest farm I have ever seen!  There were also some “What’s Missing” cards that listed what items should be on the card (i.e., four cows or two barns).  My daughter had to figure out how many items to add and then find the correct stickers to put on the card to complete it.  Finally, we played a game of memory with the farm animal cards.  There are many more activities included in the box that we have not gotten to yet, including cards to learn animal sounds and the first letters of animal names, making an animal face with stickers, repairing a tractor, feeding chickens (with real corn included), and the activity that I am most looking forward to, growing our own wheatgrass.

The DoodleBug Busy Bag is designed for children ages 3-8, and is a less expensive option.  You can order the DoodleBug Busy Bag in the same subscription amounts as the Little Thinker Box – pay upfront for 1-month ($17.99), 2-month ($33.98), 3-month ($47.97), 6-month ($93), or 12-month ($179.88) subscriptions, or be billed each month for the monthly subscription ($15.99/month).

The theme of our DoodleBug Busy Bag was “Thanksgiving.”  We started off by reading a Thanksgiving story.  My daughter then had a lot of fun with the activities included in this bag, including making a feathered headdress, decorating a 3-D turkey with stickers, and decorating a “Box of Thanks” with leaf stickers and coloring.  The Box of Thanks also came with notecards to list things that we are thankful for, or we can put items in the box that we are thankful for.  The other activities in the bag that we did not do yet include making a beaded Thanksgiving bracelet and a tissue paper turkey.  I enjoyed doing these activities with my daughter as we just celebrated Thanksgiving so we could talk about being thankful.

  1. My son loves things he can put together like the lowes and home depot craft kits, stickers, glue paint. He loves it all!

  2. They love anything that involves cutting, glitter and glue. They are known for jumping up and down to receive TAPE for a gift… they love to use that too, for creations

  3. My 8 year old granddaughter loves to sew buttons on fabric in patterns she designs herself. She is very creative!
