Ahh! Don’t Be Afraid to Learn with M is for Monster – Review

Having a small gaggle of children, one of whom is glued to my arms at all times, gives me a lot less time to organize the educational essentials. I have always loved to learn and my children are just as passionate about it, but right now I don’t have the kind of time I need to devise clever little lesson plans to exercise their minds and gather up all of the supplies. M is for Monster does exactly that for you, the busy mom! The company sent us a box to review and we loved our M is for Monster!

If you order a box from M is for Monster, you’ll receive an activity box with a lesson plan for your chosen age group, toddler or preschooler. It incorporates numbers, letters, and shapes into the activities which it details and includes all of the supplies for.

M is for Monster Box Contents

We received a preschool box for the month of March which included themes separated into weeks for weather, shamrocks, elephants, and a portion for freestyle.

M is for Monster Preschool

The first week consisted of a today’s weather chart and a water and dish soap tornado, which I really got a kick out of. My two younger daughters and I took turns spinning the cup over and over again. I, I mean they really had fun with that one!

The girls learned in a fun way with the adorable shamrock coins for counting and addition and the cute elephant cards in which they learned bigger and smaller. Creating a chain pattern using the colored paper appealed to their crafty side (They get that from me!) but they also got the hang of what a pattern is! Most of all, I think they enjoyed putting their own spin on each craft that was included, like building the shamrock wreath, making their own book, or coloring the elephant and putting in his party blowout nose, which is just about the most adorable craft idea I’ve ever seen.

I love that these activities are not just one and done, either. There was enough dish soap included for us to continue re-creating the tornado, the shamrock wreath craft is displayed proudly in our doorway, the weather chart is still hanging on our fridge and changed daily, both the included book that we read and the one that we made are re-read often, and each of the learning tools we continue to practice with.

  1. I’m torn! I’m not sure which box I’d order for my 3 1/2 year old. I know he’d love either though! 🙂

  2. I’d like the preschool box for Dorie. This box combines learning with fun. It’s loaded with lots of activities.

  3. I would choose the toddler box. My kindergartener gets a lot of fun activities that the 2 year old misses out on.
