It was bittersweet to go to our last class. I knew we would have a blast but I also knew that we wouldn’t be back the next week. Ruby and I have been enjoying the time we spend each week with Miss Liz and our Music Together class. I have seen changes in her that I would never have expected in a short time. At the last class when Miss Liz got out the parachute for the children to dance under while the parents shook it Ruby actually went under and laughed and giggled the whole time it was going up and down. The last time she saw that parachute she wouldn’t get out of my arms. Miss Liz just has this warmness and makes all the parents and kids feel totally comfortable. It was such an awesome experience for baby girl and I. After class was over Ruby went to thank Miss Liz and gave her a big hug. Again, huge change in my girl! I am hoping that a class will be available when Ruby isn’t in preschool so that in the fall we can again dance and sing with her friends.
Music Together classes run in semesters. There is still time to sign up for the Spring 2012 class as it starts this week. The class size is appropriate and we had plenty of room for getting our wiggles out. I can’t say enough good things about the fabulous cd of music we got. There are so many times during the week that I will find Ruby singing one of the songs along with doing the moves that we do in class. I really wish that I would have found out about Music Together when Ruby was younger.
There was a handful of 12-18 month kiddos in class and to see them dance around was just about the sweetest thing to watch! It was also neat to watch the Music Together veteran students who knew the ropes and seeing their excitement when they knew the instruments would be coming out or maybe their favorite song was next always made me smile.
There are a lot of classes offered to parents of babies and toddlers, but in my opinion Music Together should be very high on the list. The learning sounds and movements with dance and singing is amazing! It was such a fun semester and I would like to thank Music Together of Charlotte for allowing my daughter and I to participate in their Winter semester. If you are looking for something to do with your kiddo see if there is a Music Together class in your corner of the world. Chances are there is and you won’t be disappointed!
*Jessie was provided free music classes to write about her experience.

What a great experience. Amazing how good teachers, comfortable surroundings, and no pressure just fun can bring out the personalities of children.
