My trip to Portland for movie filming – A Walk in My Shoes airs December 3rd!

A couple of months ago, I was invited to Portland, Oregon by Proctor & Gamble and Walmart, to be a part of the movie filming experience. There were several other bloggers on this trip, and it was so much fun. We started the day by getting our hair and makeup done by the pros, then we went on location to meet the actors. Needless to say, this was incredibly exciting!

We had a “sit-down” session with the actors {Nancy Travis, Jana Lee Hamblin, Jackson Pace, Philip Winchester, Yara Martinez, and Cameron Deane Stewart} and also a Q & A session with the director. We learned so much about the filming of movies, and all that goes into it. It is quite a process!

They did a video montage of each of us, and the day’s events. Here is Eighty MPH Mom’s Portland video, if you would like to view it.

The movie that was being filmed is called “A Walk in My Shoes”. The idea with this movie is to bring families together again. You know how usually there is a movie that either the kids want to watch OR the parents want to watch? P & G and Walmart had a great idea to make a movie that both groups want to watch – together. Bringing family time back to traditional families is an idea that I am very passionate about. If only there were more movies that everyone could enjoy together.

“A Walk in My Shoes” is an uplifting, family drama, brought to you by Walmart and P&G, as part of their effort to bring more high-quality entertainment to families. “A Walk in My Shoes” will take viewers on an inspirational journey, as they experience how families can come together in the face of adversity. The official movie debut is December 3 at 8/7c on NBC.

We had such a fun time, and everyone was so incredibly nice. It was a little strange at first to have a makeup artist following us around, but kind of cool!
The actors, staff, PR reps, and everyone were really nice, and I thank them for letting us join in a day of their lives. It was something I will never forget.

The message in this movie is profound. I think the whole family will benefit from watching. Make sure you grab your kids, spouse and the popcorn and settle in for an amazing movie on December 3rd!

  1. So glad you had that opportunity to see how a movie is made and to visit the beautiful Rose City.
Hope you were able to see Mt. Hood and Mt Saint Helens as they strongly stand as the landscape backdrop
for such a lovely community as Portland.
Nice that the joint forces of P&G, Walmart and NBC are dedicated to bring family togetherness
to the fore front with this movie and during this Christmas season.

    1. I wish! It was raining the whole time, and we were pretty busy. I wish I had a little more time to spend there and explore a bit.
