O-Cedar Pro Mist Refillable Mop

O-Cedar Pro Mist to the rescue!  We had laminate flooring installed in our house about a year ago, and we couldn’t be happier with how easy laminate floors are to clean! Actually everything kind of settles in the corners and edges, but it’s easy to sweep or vacuum and then run a mop over the floor. The problem with that is the recommended solution {from the manufacturer} comes in a spray bottle. Well, that is a little tedious for mopping floors!

I recently received the O-Cedar Pro Mist Mop for review and I am SO thrilled with it!

Devoted to making your life easier, O-Cedar is extremely proud of the thorough, deep clean each ProMist provides. The ProMist is the ONLY brand to offer two types of microfiber pads: a durable pad that can be washed up to 100 times and a disposable pad that can be washed or tossed. Unlike most other mops out there, the ProMist comes with a refillable bottle allowing you to decide what you want to clean with. With kids and pets around, we recommend a little vinegar and water instead of those harsh, smelly chemical cleaners.

I am enjoying this mop so much!  The O-Cedar Pro Mist Mop is really easy to use, first of all, which is a huge plus for me.  I used the recommended solution {from the floor manufacturer}, but I watered it down a bit.  The handle is really comfortable, and cleaning my floors was an absolute breeze!  My floors were really, really dusty {hey, I’m human. And I have cats that shed}, but look how shiny and gorgeous they are right after cleaning:

I am really glad that I like this so much, because I will be mopping pretty much every day.  I have used similar mops in the past, but one of them started leaking, and another just didn’t “scrub” the way I needed it too.  The microfiber pad that comes on the O-Cedar Pro Mist Mop is just the right size, and I can easily get into the smaller areas that need cleaning as well.   The pad can be washed up to 100 times – I love that it is reusable {and this will save me SO much money}.  Or if you prefer, you can also buy disposable microfiber pads, which can be washed or thrown away after use.  Genius! Gone are the old days of a mop and bucket – oh that was so messy.  We’ve come a long way baby!

And fun news about an O-Cedar Sweepstakes!
O cedar sweepstakes

A friend of mine also tried a Pro Mist mop and here are her thoughts:

I am a mother of four so am constantly cleaning! I am a perfectionist when it comes to housework, so I really enjoy trying new products. I just tried the O-cedar Pro Mist dry/wet cleaning system and I am very impressed. My home is almost all tile and with four children it gets very dirty. I found the Pro Mist was very easy to use. I chose to use vinegar and water and it cleaned my floors without any effort on my part. Unlike other similar products that I have used, the handle on the Pro Mist is very solid and sturdy. This is important to me, as I will be using this a lot! The pad trapped the dirt and the mist dispensed was just the right amount to not completely soak my floors. My floors dried really fast. I clean houses for a living and will be purchasing another Pro Mist for my jobs. I have a feeling they will make my life much, much easier!

The O-Cedar Pro Mist Mop can be purchased at retailers everywhere, for approx. $99. And so worth every cent 🙂

  1. I bought one of these several months ago and absolutely love it. I have tried other brands but this one is the best I have found-and it does not leak like the others. My four year old even likes to use it. Having 3 dogs and a cat requires me to clean on a daily basis. Love, love, love this one!!

  2. I read the review & can see that there are a couple reasons to purchase one of these mops. 1. they don’t leak like other misting mops do 2. you can use whatever cleaning solution you want in it. 3. you can use the fabric “mop pad” & wash them or use the desposables. It cleans up great time & again!
Those are good enough reasons right there!

  3. Can this Ocedar mop be safely used on regular hardwood floors? I assume the floors are sealed since most are.

  4. I absolutely love my microfiber pad, When it’s drty I just throw it in the wash. Are the ProMist pads reusable or throw away? I’m all about saving the environment plus keeping daily household expenses down

  5. Hi –
I REALLY feel stupid about this question, but I have to ask. I too LOVE this mop, however…. when I refill the bottle, it wont spray, just dribbles out. What am I doing wrong??? I have tried “priming” by holding my finger over the outlet, but still not working. Please have mercy on my ignorance and help me make my mop work again!! LOL – I miss it!! 🙂
    Thanks for the help.

    1. Hmmm I am sorry to hear this is happening – I would miss mine too 🙁 This started happening on my Rubbermaid Mop, but not this one yet, thank goodness. have you run really hot water over the outlet? Maybe that would unclog whatever might be clogging it? If that doesn’t work, maybe you can contact the company and they can offer suggestions, or even a replacement tube. Good luck!

    2. I have almost the same problem. From the first time I used this mop, the trigger worked on the first pull and then after that, it stopped working. I don’t think that my problem is the bottle or the solution outlet, it is the trigger. I can tell because it just doesn’t work. You know how you can feel resistance when you pull the trigger as the fluid is coming out? Mine just pulls back loosely and nothing comes out. Well maybe a little dribble, but no spray. And it has been like this from the first (well probably second) use. And of course I threw the receipt away. This product seemed like such a wonderful, inexpensive, “green” alternative to other floor mops. I am so disappointed.

  6. I haven’t tried the mop yet but am very interested in it. I love the fact I can use my own cleaner and I love the idea of being able to wash the pad over and over, but, my question is this… “Can I buy just the pad when the one I have is worn out, or will I have to buy the entire mop again?” Thanks for any input you may have.

    1. I’m not sure if they have the regular replacement pads, but they do have the disposable ones (that can be washed a few times before throwing out). I have washed original pad several times and it’s still going strong though.

      1. OK, thanks. I think I’m going to buy the mop anyway. Either way, it sounds like it will be worth it.

  7. I own this mop, but I’m having trouble with the squeeze handle. I only get to squeeze once than it doesn’t work.

  8. I decided to purchase O cedar ProMist mop today. I got it on sale for $9.99 and the refills at
$ 4.99. I hope this mop does the job and fail on me in weeks to come. I say this because I purchased Rubbermaid Mist Mop three times and it failed after 3 weeks. The spout where the water soultion sprays from stopped spraying. Boy was I upset. I decided to call rubbermaid. Explained problem to CSR she took model number and apologized for the trouble and mailed a $25 dollar gift certificate. Was pleased aout that. Hopefully, O cedar lives up to the hype.

  9. I love my o’ceder mop. I only put water a tad of vinegar in them . Unfortunately I have already purchased four of them. All but this last one have clogged within two months of use. I did contact the company and they sent me one replacement.
I like the idea of using my cleaner in it and rewashing the pads. But four big plastic mops is allot of waste that adds up.

  10. I am having a hard time getting the top off to fill mine, does screw off or pull off??
    Boy do I feel stupid

  11. I also have the problem of the pump not working. I disassembled the unit and found sticking check valves. It would be nice to find a parts listing. I could fix this.
