Give & Get Back the Gift of Sleep with Pampers

“Sleep when baby sleeps.”

It’s a phrase that new parents hear time and time again. So often so that it is often in one ear and out the other. I remember it well; the thought that the above statement was silly. It’s almost as silly as predicting baby’s gender with a piece of string, right? Every parent wants to be the “best” at their new role as “Mom” or “Dad.” These days, we feel the need to do it all – bring new life into the world, have an impeccably clean home, prepare an array of healthy meals for the family, keep ourselves in tip top shape, have the best job, the nicest home, the fanciest car, keep on top of the bills, make time for friends, entertain the masses, oh, and of course do absolutely everything and then some to assure the most perfect life and upbringing for that amazing child you’ve created. Sounds tiring, doesn’t it? So, “sleep when baby sleeps,” eh? Who has time for that? I have to feed the baby, cook, clean, change the baby, rock the baby, do the wash, fold the laundry, feed the baby, change the baby, cook again, prepare for company, walk the dog, feed the baby, change the baby… wait, did I shower yet? …did I eat yet? Seriously, as tired and overworked as we parents are, who has time for sleep? And that’s it, that’s it right there. That do-it-all mentality every new parent is burdened with does us all in for the count. We manage to take care of everything and everyone… except ourselves. At the end of the day, when every chore as task have been completed and we finally get a second to breathe and lie down on that oh so comfortable pillow… it starts all over again.

Welcoming an adorable little new person into the world is a blessing beyond words but the chaos that quickly ensues upon their arrival home isn’t something that we are all necessarily prepared for. Our oldest did us in when it came to parenthood. As sweet as he is, Momma was no match for colic. Our second was a bit easier but has my stubbornness down pat. Between the two of them, I’ve had many sleepless nights of my own but now that the kids are a bit older, I have (quite gladly) welcomed back, with open arms, my dearly missed sleep. As much as I love my (new?) ability to sleep through the night, I sympathize with the countless amounts of parents that are still in and just beginning the journey of many sleepless nights ahead. So yes, I will be the mom with advice. As annoying as the mantra can be, please, take our advice – “sleep when baby sleeps!”

Recently, I teamed up with Pampers on a mission to give the gift of sleep back to parents that so desperately need it. After two little ones of my own, I quickly learned that one of the easiest ways to assure a good night’s sleep for, both, you and your baby is by choosing the right diaper.

Pampers New Logo

Both of our babies came home sporting nothing but Pampers and though I dabbled in trying a few other brands, I always came back to Pampers. It was the only brand that I’ve ever found to completely keep my little ones dry through the entire night. No leaks, no messes, no icky wet feelings all equal up to a baby in peaceful slumber.

“By interviewing over 9,000 moms about what was important for their baby, Pampers found the number one unmet need is a diaper that provides superior overnight dryness.”

Luckily for all of you new and soon-to-be parents out there, this is a problem no more! Having incorporated the mothers’ insight and merged it with their own understanding of babies and their needs, Pampers designed a diaper that will finally solve the new baby and new parent sleep issues. Pampers’ new, innovative design is one that, both, mom and baby can count on for up to twelve (yes, 12!) hours of overnight protection!

Pampers Swaddlers (500x500)

#1 Choice (500x395)

Pampers Swaddlers – the #1 choice of hospitals – are the very diapers that my own children came home in. At the time, the color-changing wetness indicator was revolutionary to me. Now, not only do these diapers still possess this awesome feature but their incredible softness and new design will help to keep baby as comfortable as possible for as long as possible. And with 12-hour overnight protection, longtime comfort is truly possible with Pampers. Swaddlers are available in sizes ranging from preemie to 5.

Swaddlers Sizes (500x262)

Once your little ones have graduated from the Swaddlers sizes, you can move them to the next step in Pampers Baby Dry diapers.

Pampers Cruisers are for the slightly older crowd.

Perfectly fitted for those fidgety little ones that are beginning to explore the world around them by embarking on their own little “let’s move” adventure, Pampers Cruisers move with your baby by adapting at the waist, legs, and that tiny heinie!

Now, more absorbent than ever and with twelve hours of protection, Cruisers are the best fit for all the ways that babies play freely. Cruisers are available in sizes 3 through 7.

Now, getting back to this whole “give the gift of sleep” bit that I mentioned earlier… I bet you’re all wondering what on Earth I’m talking about, right? Well, when I said that I teamed up with Pampers for this mission I meant that I am, quite literally, giving the gift of sleep back to someone whom I thought needed it. Here’s the story…

Friends of ours have three children. That in itself is reason enough to lose sleep but there is much more to it.

Family Photo (500x333)

This couple – an amazingly sweet couple – has had life throw one too many curve balls their way. A few years ago, they received the devastating news that their youngest (at the time) child was diagnosed with cancer.

Cancer Ribbon

Yes, the big “C” word that absolutely no one ever wants to hear, especially in regard to a child. Before even attending his first day of school or playing his first baseball game this little boy’s life – and his parents’ lives – was turned upside-down in an instant. From Matchbox cars and toy blocks to hospital rooms and treatment days, it is a transition that no child should ever have to make. Unfortunately, however, cancer rears its ugly head toward all of us, even our youngest, most innocent beings.

Boy (333x500)

Despite receiving the gut-wrenching and heart-breaking news, our friends remained the same sweetest, kindest, easy-going couple as they were prior to all of this. Their son, he became a warrior. Transformers, superheroes, the military, he idolized and embodied them.

Their daughter, his big sister, she was forced to grow up all too quickly.

Big Sister (333x500)

Diagnoses like these are tough on anyone, more so a child. Watching your younger sibling’s life nearly slip away is something that I cannot even find words for and I sympathize with her for everything she’s had to witness. But through it all, this decorated Girl Scout has grown into a beautiful, strong, and powerful young woman to whom many should respect. Unfortunately, she too has had to deal with her own trials and tribulations with health issues. Scoliosis was the evil doer this time around.

Family – 0, Bad news – 2.

In light of it all, there was still love. They still found the strength to push forward, the courage to persevere, and the will to weather the storm. The light on the other side of the dark, dreary tunnel was soon to be found… in their new baby daughter and sister.

Baby (333x500)

What a more joyous occasion than celebrating a brand new life brought into this world. The celebration of love, of family, of togetherness… it is happy. It is pure elation. They did what many of us struggle to do, to simply forget the negativity in our lives, in the world, and relish in life and the love and bliss of it all. Put aside those sleepless nights and just smile. If they can do it, you can do it.

There is no one else that I could possibly think of that is more deserving of the “gift of sleep” more than this family, right here. And now, thanks to Pampers, their new designs and this campaign, I was able to gift this family with just that. When I teamed up with Pampers on this mission to give the gift of sleep, they graciously provided me with a gift card for this mission. Since this entire family has persevered through the chaos together, I wanted to gift them all with a bit of relaxation and sleep. This, the least that I could do, is what I came up with…

For Mom & Dad:

A soothing movie night with all of the necessities on hand.

For Big Sister:

A musical escape to her own world of ease.

DSCN9665 (500x479)

For Little Guy:

A heroic collection of toys and bedtime stories.

DSCN9668 (500x250)

For Baby:

A warm bath, comfy blanket and Pampers diapers to drift off into a serene slumber.

DSCN9670 (500x490)

I certainly hope that this collection of feel good, sleep well goodies will help them finally get the rest, relaxation and sleep that they so greatly deserve. With Pampers on board, I’m betting that they will definitely relish, once again, in the, oh so enviable, gift of sleep.

DSCN9676 (500x375)

Sweet, new baby, +1. No new cancer growth, +1. Gift of sleep, +1.

Bad news – 2, Family – 3.

DSCN9673 (500x375)

And to continue on with the positive news and good deed done, here’s a little something for you! In their graciousness, Pampers not only allowed me to help make this family’s life a bit easier but they, too, want to spread the joy and gift of sleep to your life as well.

  6. My kids have been out of diapers for decades. Sure wish some of these options would have been available way back when.

  7. Pampers cruisers are the best for my son, he has been wearing them since birth as did his older siblings and they really do last overnight without leaking plus they don’t cause him to have any sort of a rash.
