Prior to having kids, my only experience with any pigs was on farms, a neighbor having one as a pet, and its existence on my dinner plate. If you had told me then that pigs would soon become a regular part of my daily routine, I probably would’ve laughed at you. Flash forward to today and, low and behold, that is exactly what happened. Now, I’m sure you’re probably all wondering how this could possibly be true but, believe it or not, it is highly likely that you are in the same exact boat. Have I confused you yet? Let me clear things up for you with two simple words – Pegga Pig.

As I am sure you’re well aware, Peppa Pig has seemingly achieved a level of all time greatness and, in a kid’s world it has become the epitome of cartoons. As a parent, I’m not entirely too fond of cartoons in general as I would much rather have the children be doing something constructive. However, Peppa Pig is one of the few children’s programs that I actually enjoy.
Peppa is a loveable, exuberant little piggy who lives with her little brother George, Mommy Pig, and Daddy Pig. Peppa’s favorite things include playing games, dressing up, days out, and jumping in muddy puddles. Her adventures always end happily with loud snorts of laughter.
Airing on Nick Jr. from 12-1pm EST, Peppa Pig is a fantastic show for the entire family. I love that the show itself is so much more than just another cartoon. There are always great, underlying messages within each episode and that is something that all parents can find solace in. Whether Peppa and her friends are venturing off on a class trip, her and her brother are visiting Daddy Pig at work, or she’s jumping in muddy puddles, the show is full of the simple things in life that we all find joyous.

The show depicts a sweet, little family enjoying life one moment at a time. There is no craziness, no oddball storylines, nothing that pushes non age-appropriate content onto the kids, to put it simply, there is absolutely nothing negative to say about this show. It depicts everyday situations that preschoolers and young children can relate to and it subtly helps them with the social and emotional development aspect of childhood. We absolutely love the show and I cannot say enough good things about it!
Having boys, I’ve noticed that the kids have recently begun to shy away from “girly” shows due to peer pressure but, despite having a female main character, Peppa Pig made the cut. And, because of that, I wanted to be sure that I encourage their love of the show. For that, I am proud to announce that I am now and official Peppa Pig VIP Parent. How fun?!

As a VIP Parent and as a great fan of all things Peppa Pig, I am also happy to be able to share with you that the Peppa Pig brand goes so far beyond your television screen alone. You see, through a collection of books, DVDs, toys, and more, all things Peppa Pig can be enjoyed at any time of the day and from anywhere. Your little ones can even head out to jump in muddy puddles with their own plush Peppa right by their side!
The lovely team behind the Peppa Pig brand was kind enough to send my family a welcome kit of sorts for my inclusion within the VIP Parent initiative. We received a box filled to the brim with Peppa Pig goodies and my kids had a field day going through, playing with, and enjoying each and every item. Here are just some of the great products that were included:

It is wholesome entertainment that always ends in loud snorts of laughter. My absolute favorite part about Peppa Pig is the message that it is okay to be you, okay to have fun, and more importantly, okay to be a kid.
