Pet-ZZZ-Pad Electric Pet Warmer Pad

PET-ZZZ-PAD

warming dog pad, do dogs get cold?

Do your pets get cold at night? Maybe you have a short-haired cat or dog that easily gets chilled. Or maybe your pet just likes that warm and fuzzy feeling, but you have mostly tile in your house. Pet-zzz-pad is here to help!

I was sent for review, a Pet-ZZZ-Pad electric pet warmer pad. They are available in three sizes, and I chose Large {$39.99 ARV) because my cats are, well, pretty hefty. I really wasn’t sure what they would think of a warming pad. I also worried about them chewing on the cord of an electric type pad {they are very curious}.

I was pleasantly surprised when I received the Pet-ZZZ-Pad – it has a nice, soft fleece covering over the pad, and the cord is covered in a thick material that cannot be easily penetrated. The pad heats to the vet-recommended 102 degrees. What is really neat is that the heat is activated when they step/sit on the pad, and it turns off when they leave the pad. Love it!

Now for the big test – would my cats like it? They typically sleep on the couches, or in the one kitty bed we have, so I put this on the floor right next to the kitty bed. I haven’t yet tried it inside the bed, but I don’t know that I need to! Having it separate allows for two of my kitties to be warm and cozy at the same time. The results?

Lilly aka Squeakers was fascinated. She stepped on it for a few minutes, got off, got back on and sat. It was funny to watch as she slowly sprawled out like she was melting into it {in a good way}.

Jake aka Bubba {my other huge furry grey kitty} took a little longer to warm up to it but then it was hard to keep him off:

Newman was a little apprehensive, which is unusual, but then he decided he liked it quite a bit!

Even as the weather starts to warm up, pets still need and crave warmth, according to veterinarians.

With a normal body temperature of 102 degrees, our furry friends still need a warm spot to curl up to, even in the spring. Also, according to Christopher Hallihan, DVM, Managing Partner at Animal Care Center in New Jersey, pets with muscle or joint pain often seek out sun spots.

Dr. Halilhan recommends providing the Pet-zzz-pad, which heats up to a recommended 102 degrees, for pets year round. “The Pet-zzz-pad moldable mat helps keep them comfortable. You may also want to use it for dogs that shiver, as well as puppies and kittens that need extra warmth,” he said.

Folks, I think we have a winner! I am just hoping that there won’t be knock down, drag out fights with the cats 🙂  I do recommend getting the large size pad, as it is just big enough for my largest cat.  The smaller pads  might be fine for really little dogs, but for cats, I suggest Large.

The Pet-zzz-pad comes in three sizes {S, M, L}, and comes with a removable and machine washable fleece cover. The cord is covered in a chew resistant cord casing. They can be purchased online at Petco.com, Amazon.com and other retailers {$19.99 – $39.99}.

  1. It would be for all three of my babies. My dog doesn’t have much in the way of fur, so she’s always cold and looking for a warm body to curl up against. And my two cats actively seek out any warm spots a person may leave behind. So if you move from your spot on the couch or bed, chances are when you come back you’ve lost it to a very happy kitty.

  2. I would give this to our old cat, Kia. She has age related shoulder problems & she loves to sleep on top of the electric blanket in the winter. Seems heat helps her a bit.

  3. I’d give it to my own big gray fluffy cat! If he didn’t like it, I’d give it to my mom for one of her doxies who is constantly shivering.

  4. This would be for my cocker spaniel. We keep his hair clipped short and he often gets chilly.

  5. This would be for our 5 y/o dachshund who recently had back surgery.

  6. This would be for my 4 1/2 year old dog Lolo whos a boston terrier/daschund who gets cold easily she loves snuggling with blankets for warmth so I think she would love it if I won this! Thanks for entering me into this giveaway!

  7. My cat Max-he was a stray that I rescued and he had been hit by a car so he has some old wounds and injuries that cause him some discomfort. He always looks for the hot spot in the house so I know he would appreciate this on his sore joints!

  8. Since we have three cats, each of which will sit in front of a heater vent or lay on the dryer for warmth, I think they will all have to fight it out to see which one gets the heating pad.

  9. my cat peanuts, he loves to lay on anything, mostly me and my blankets, so ide give him this so he doesnt try to get my heated body. LOL

  10. I am sure my four (2 cats, 2 dogs ) would fight over who gets it more often, but I am sure Jersey would get it the most!

  19. This would be for my older cat Spooky – she loves it when I turn on the electric blanket – I’m sure she’d appreciate this!

  20. It would be for my friend’s small dog – abt the size of your cats from the looks of the picture!

  21. Both my cats are blanket hogs! Every night they sleep on the bed with us but when it is really cold they both end up under the blankets – especially jewel our girl cat. Jewel climbs under blankets to nap ALL the time unless she can find a warm sun spot on the floor!

  22. This would be for my puggle, Magoo. He always steal my heated blanket and then it smells like dog lol!

  23. This would be for my 11 year old siamese, he seems as if he is always looking to cuddle, and we are not always available to be cuddled with

  24. I have two cats, but my old lady Moon kitty would get this. She deserves it . We moved up north and it is much colder up here than in Texas!!

  25. Beautiful kitties!

I’m not sure which of the cats would prefer it more. Probably Bouncer, but I doubt any of the others would let her get near it. Sid loves to be under the covers but he radiates heat like a … well… radiator. Moochie always has cold feet. And Ducky always has my lap. Hmmm. I’m sure they’ll share. HAHA

    Thanks for the giveaway >^..^<

  26. I’m a vet tech and take home sick strays to nurse back to health. this would be great to keep them arm during their recovery.

  27. I would love to win for my 7 month old boxer puppy Gibson. He loves to lay on warm laundry and I know he’d love this!

  28. this would be for my kitty LuLu,
thanks for the opportunity to win this! looks great!

  29. I need one of these for my mini chiweenie. Poor baby sits in front of the heater after coming in because he is soooo cold.

  30. This would probably be a duke it out fight between the four cats and the rabbit – something tells me our crazy bunny just might actually end up the winner, lol

  31. My cats, Wilco and Weather, would probably fight over this. Weather is a bit smaller than Wilco, who looks similar to your cat, Newman. They’d both love this!

  32. This would be for my Scooter Cat. He isn the short haired version (sort of) of Lily. When he was very young, like 9 months or so, he explored an area of our basement we had shut off to the cats.

He found a way to make it in there via the drop ceiling. As the name suggests, he dropped through and unfortunately broke his hip.

He is now about 10 yrs old and its obvious he loves to have heat on his hip. He places himself in the sunshine just on his back end sometimes. My daughter covers him with a blanket on his legs and he never moves. This would be something I feel he would love.

I never thought to give him a real heating pad. I work in Physical Therapy and had a patient who got burns on her legs because she fell asleep with a heating pad. Since this is designed for animals I’m sure it’s safe.

Thanks so much for this giveaway! I love finding new products.

  33. It would be for my sweet, but shivering dog Gidget!

  37. We have nine cats. Two of the older ones are Misha and Indy, who are littermates. They are the first ones I thought of when I saw this electric pet warmer giveaway. Indy has diabetes, and he’s very overweight. Even feeding him Hill’s Prescription Diet weight loss food and limiting his portions has not helped much. He seems to limp a lot, but the vet hasn’t found any signs of a specific problem when we’ve had him in about it. We think he just hurts himself a little when he climbs up on the bed, plus at 11 years old, he’s just getting to that middle-age time when he might have more trouble getting around. I think the heat might help him.

Misha is frequently terrorized by our much younger cat Petra and has taken to hiding under our bed most of the time. We have a rug under there, but I think the heating pad might be nice for her.

  38. This sounds perfect for my cat, Gigi. She is getting on in age and has a bit of rheumatiz. This winter I’ve been keeping the electric blanket on during the day and she curls up on the bed. This will be great for her.
    Thanks for the contest.

  39. For our kitty boys, they’d enjoy it and I like to see them in comfort.

  43. This will be for my shih szuh Smurf, who always seems to get asthmatic when the weather gets really damp. Thanks for the opportunity to win it.

  44. The pet-zzz pad would be for my mini-schnauzer.He is always cold even in the summer with the air conditioning on. He loves to wear sweaters and tunnel under blankets.

  45. My poor Callie is a fraidy cat and spends so much time alone hiding. I think this might comfort her.

  46. I would use this for my bunny Brownie. He has always been a sicky-bun, and this would help him not only feel better, but get better faster.

  47. My Kitty David—he was born without working hips and abandoned –he was rescued by a kind hearted vet who operated to help him walk but he can’t jump he has stairs to get on our bed–but he is very sensitive to the cold so he wants to be in my lap always —(his nemesis is my laptop) this would be perfect for him!
