A Smart Lunchbox for Kids and Adults…It’s PlanetBox! Review

March 25, 2015 by Sky Leave a Comment

Eighty MPH Mom Review Disclosure

Ten years ago I was all over those character lunchboxes for my son.  Times they have changed.  I’ve become a little bit greener (goodbye plastic baggies!) and more health concious.  It wasn’t until my daughter went to Kindergarden that I started learning more about the bento lunch meals.  So, I’m not that crafty – I’m more concerned with a well-balanced meal rather than a theme of food.  That’s where PlanetBox comes into play.

PlanetBox is the smart lunchbox for both adults and children.  Part bento box, part TV dinner tray, it features  segmented containers, perfect for packing unique and delicous meals with portions that are just the right size.

Available in three different sizes, Launch (holds 6 1/2 cups of food), Rover (holds 4 1/2 cups of food) and Shuttle (holds 3 cups of food).  I opted for the Launch because the PlanetBox is mine {all mine!} because I try to take a lunch as often as possible but I usually end up throwing something in my purse and hoping I don’t forget about it.  With the Launch lunch system, I’m able to be not only more concious about what I’m eating but hopefully this will force me to take time out for lunch.

The Launch includes a carrying case in choice of colors (I selected purple) a stainless steel container with 3 compartments and 1 dipper as well as a Glass Satellite dish for reheating foods.  It’s dishwasher safe, so cleanup is easy.  Additionally, I received a fork and spoon set and a coldkit.

PlanetBox Accessories

The PlanetBox container is made from stainless steel.  It’s heavy duty.  Keep it simple or add a little pizzaz with magnets made just for the PlanetBox.  I selected the Woodland Fairies because I want to keep it fun.  But there are several different magnets, including a Draw It Yourself option or upload your own photos and truly make it your own.  Just remember to remove them before washing.  I keep mine on the fridge for safe-keeping.

PlanetBox Bag

PlanetBox is an investment, prices range from $69.95 for the Launch lunch System to $2.95 for magnets.  Purchase in a kit or simply purchase the items you really want/need.

PlanetBox

Perhaps my favorite thing about PlanetBox is the Plan-It App.  Simply create an account on PlanetBox and get to work making your own meals to get inspiration from browsing meals.  Below take a peek at the lunch I created – doesn’t it look delish?

SkyLunch

I absolutely love that I can search meals solely based upon the Launch lunch system.  Don’t forget to check out PlanetBox on Instagram and Facebook for even more meal ideas!
