I am not sure about your family but mine has been thinking of their Halloween costumes since, oh I don’t know, November 1st last year! We do love Halloween around here and although we don’t go completely cra cra with decorations it is definitely one of our most favorite holidays.
I was going to have our Ruby pick a costume from Pottery Barn Kids but she decided to wear the pink pony costume from last year. Another sweet Pottery Barn Kids costume. We went to trunk or treats at the church, parties with a few parenting groups we know, and then the grand finale, trick or treating on Halloween. Ruby loved that costume so much that we wore it for play after Halloween was long over. I managed to put it away in my closet saving it for someone I knew that needed a super duper cute pink pony costume when Ruby told me that SHE wanted to wear it. It still fits perfectly and she will receive many “Aww”‘s from the houses again this year. It barely looks worn even though she wore the heck out of it and it also had to be washed a few times. It is perfect!
With so many costumes to choose from at Pottery Barn Kids it was tough for my middle daughter to make a decision. Her love of fairies won over and with a squeal in her voice she picked the Summer Fairy Tutu Costume. I am the type of mama who buys things bigger, you know just in case the garment runs small or in case the child loves the item so much they want to wear it for a few years (like the pony costume). I actually chose the size 4-6 rather than the 7/8 and am glad that I did. The fit was perfect and had I gone up in size it would have been too big on my 5 year old.
With the stretchy top it will easily still fit her another year. I believe the sizing to be true as Violet can still fit into a size 5 in most clothing. She has room in the costume in case it is a chilly night and I have to add a long sleeved shirt and leggings underneath. The quality of Pottery Barn Kids costumes insure that one day our little Ruby will get to wear this gorgeous magical fairy costume.
The designers at Pottery Barn Kids really pay attention to the little details. I said this last year when I reviewed the Pink Pony but I will say it yet again with our Summer Fairy Costume. Tulle, tulle, and more tulle! The skirt part of the dress is full and sparkly thanks to the layers of tulle, in true fairy (princess) fashion of course. The sash around the waist has pretty tulle flowers and a silky hot pink flower. The same hot pink flower also is on the fairy headband and fairy wand. The sweet wand also has green ribbon dangling from the flower.
Pottery Barn Kids didn’t stop with the front of the costume though. As your little fairy walks away you will see the beautiful sparkly wings on the back of the costume. They attach to your child’s shoulders with velcro and I was assured they were very comfortable. The Summer Fairy costume from PBK is a little girl’s dream!
Maybe your child isn’t into fairies as much as my girls are. Pottery Barn Kids has by far and away the cutest costumes I have seen! Just look at this Hedgehog costume! I love this! Or the Flamingo. Stop the cuteness!
If I had boys I would beg then to let me get them these Where the Wild Things Are costumes. It is a favorite book in our house. When I am loving on my 3 year old I tell you “I’ll eat you up” and she’ll say “I love you so”. You might as well know I tried to talk the middle girl into wearing one of these but she is 5 and such a girlie girl she declined. Boo!
Pottery Barn Kids has a big selection of items to decorate your table and home. Pottery Barn Kids has started to put their costumes on sale so go on over to their website with your kiddies but be prepared to want all of them! Too bad Halloween is only one day a year. Give Pottery Barn Kids a like on Facebook and you will know when sales start! They also share recipes, craft projects, and fun ideas to do with your kiddies.
