POTTY PATCH REVIEW

Do you have a small dog that won’t potty train? Does he still have accidents in the house? Or do you have a puppy?

artificial turf for dogs to go potty

Recently I received the Potty Patch for review. Its a great product for training your puppy where to go potty! Puppies and small dogs have small bladders, meaning they can only hold “it” for about four hours, and that’s only if they want to!

The awesome thing about the Potty Patch is that it has three levels. The first level is fake grass that allows the urine to go straight to the drain pan at the bottom. The second level is the grate that keeps the grass dry and above any liquid. The third level is the collection tray, which holds up to a gallon of liquid allowing multiple uses.  Replacement pads can be purchased as necessary.

Now I have a Great Dane, the regular size Potty Patch was too small for her, so I tested it out on my mom’s Yorkie. He seemed interested but hasn’t used it yet. He has only had it out for a week.  He may just need a little more time to get used to the new  “foreign” object in his house!  Plus, I would highly recommend getting the Puppy Aid Training Spray. The spray attracts your dog to the Potty Patch.

I can’t wait to try the Potty Patch on the puppies this summer! I think its going to make potty training much easier. The puppies will recognize the grass as the place to go, instead of the carpet!

Here is a list of Helpful Hints from the manufacturer:

  • Keep Potty Patch in the same location
  • When training, use positive reinforcement while dog is on the grass
  • Check tray contents regularly, tray will hold up to one gallon
  • Keep Potty Patch clean and clear of debris
  • Clean your Potty Patch as needed
  • Grass patch is cut from a large roll and may fray at the edges, this is normal and will eventually stop as it slightly recedes from the edge

You can purchase the Potty Patch Indoor Dog Potty on the Potty Patch website, as well as other retailers.

Plus, one reader is going to win a Potty Patch of their own!

  6. Potty Patch would help us when we babysit our mother’s dog. I am physically unable to get in and out of our home during the day so this would be good to put just outside the door, on the deck.

  11. We have a 7 year old dog who is litter box trained. We have a new puppy and am trying to litter box train her as well. Even though we are using a shallow pan, she seems a little timid of it. I am sure this product would be much more agreeable to her.

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  15. GFC follower as lewalk. I have three inside dogs: Beau the lab who is 8, Max the pit who is 2, and Huck the rat terrier who is not quite a year. We house trained the older two with little incident. Huck, however, simply refuses to comply. Lol. This would be perfect for us I think. He will go outside but he also keeps going inside, and then Max feels the need to cover it with his scent so it turns into an actual p***ing contest in my laundry room. Lol. I walk them because we live by the highway and I have taken them out every two hours, when I’m home, since the day my daughter brought Huck home (without permission of course). I’m tired so we really need a better solution. I hope I win and I hope this works so I can get some rest.

  26. Having six little doggies in the house, we don’t always make it outside to “do our business” and right now we just use weewee pads, this would be wonderful because they are used to going on the grass outside.
Thank you SO much for the chance to win this, we have wanted one for a while. =)

  27. I adopted my little puppy mill rescue/survivor last April, and she is just terrified of storms. We’re in Florida, so daily storms are a part life. It’s very difficult to coax “Sarah” to go out after it has rained, and impossible to get her out WHILE it is raining. She was abused, so requires a very gentle touch and voice. This would definitely help as it could be placed just inside the door.

  28. we have an older dog who has problems holding it throu the night so i’m hoping she would use this and not the carpet

  29. we have a puppy that is just learning and this tool would be so useful in his training

  30. this would help me because my hubbys best friend chico likes to pee on my fridge i would put this in front of it
