Proactive Solution for teen acne – yes it works!

Acne is no fun, whether you are a teen, or if you suffer from adult acne. There are so many products on the market, that it can be overwhelming to say the least. Which product will actually work? Which products are just not effective?  My daughter has tried several acne products during her teen years, and had never really found anything that she found to be effective.  She doesn’t have terrible acne, just the normal teen acne.  It is enough to sometimes make her self-conscious though, and because of that we have been on the hunt for a product that will clear her skin.

When she found out that we would be receiving the Proactiv kit for review, she was ecstatic. She had seen the commercials plenty of times, but we had just never purchased their products. The kit is made up of everything needed to take control of acne.  She started immediately the evening she received the kit and has been diligent with her skin care routine ever since.   The first night she cleansed her skin with the Renewing Cleanser, then followed that with the Refining Mask.  The mask is quick-acting (medicated sulfur) which will help trouble spots, uneven skin tone and inflammation.  She swears by this stuff – I think she might have even called it “the bomb”!    The Refining Mask can be used 2 or 3 times a week.

Her regular daily regimen consists of the Renewing Cleanser, the Revitalizing Toner and the Repairing Treatment.  They are easy to use and they keep her skin fresh and really clean.  She also uses the Green Tea Moisturizer once a day (after the Repairing Treatment).  This is helpful if her skin is especially dry.

I wanted to include before and after photos, but the problem is, she started with the kit immediately, and I never did take before photos.  I am posting an “after’ photo, which shows a few blemishes (you know – that time of the month), but we are noticing improvement every day. Before she started with Proactiv, she had many more breakouts than she does currently!

The kit, in my opinion, is perfect for teens, as it contains everything they need to start and continue the Proactiv products.  In addition to the products, there is an easy-to-read laminated sheet with step-by-step instructions.  Teens (and most adults!) don’t want to read through pages and pages of information.  This sheet spells it out so you can get started right away.

There is also an amazing support system online, at Proactive 365.  You can find answers to all of your questions, or even submit a question and one of the doctors will answer via phone, email or online chat.  I think this is so helpful to have everything you need at your fingertips.  My daughter found a wealth of information there.
