Repertoire cookbook by Jessica Battilana
Cooking comes naturally to some people, and for others, it can be quite a challenge. In the “Repertoire” Cookbook by Jessica Battilana, both experienced and novice cooks will find a plethora of easy to follow, simple (but tasty) recipes that will CERTAINLY please the tastebuds.
I remember when I got married, and most of the cookbooks I had involved a level of difficulty that I quite frankly, didn’t have the time {or patience} for. With two small children, getting a meal on the table was always challenging. I do know how to cook, thanks to my mother, but I wanted to try new family friendly recipes. If I had found the Repertoire cookbook back then, I would have been ecstatic, and it would have saved a lot of guesswork about what to prepare for dinner each night!
About the author:
Author Jessica Battilana has co-authored five other chef cookbooks, but this one is her baby – it is her first but solo book. She writes the “Repertoire” column for the San Francisco Chronicle, and has appeared in Martha Stewart Living, the Wall Street Journal, The New York Times & more…busy lady!
From the author:
My approach to cooking at home changed after my sons arrived, and this book was born from that shift. It’s filled with sane, doable recipes intended for the average home cook working in a regular kitchen who shops at a regular grocery store-real recipes for real life. Recipes that really work. They’re my tried-and-true recipes, the ones I can cook by heart with a kid (or two) hanging off of me. I am also a the mama of two boys, ages 6 and 4.
The recipes in Repertoire are mouthwatering. I am dying to make the Candy Pork…doesn’t that sound amazing? Look:
The Repertoire cookbook by Jessica Battilana has 75 recipes, and they are all recipes that Jessica cooks at home. I am glad she chose to share them!
I really love Jessica’s approach. So many cookbooks seem too “complicated” for the average chef. This book is like a personal cookbook – it makes you think of simple, but incredibly tasty, home cooked meals that pretty much anyone can make. Serving your family a hearty meal doesn’t have to be difficult at all.
This would be an awesome gift for a house warming or wedding, a college student who is now in charge of their own meals, or just a good friend who likes the simple things in life.

I have a honey salmon recipe that I love to make.
Thanks for the contest.
I love to make one pot/one pan meals and besides soups, my most favorite is sheet pan roasted chicken and veggies. All of it reheats nicely, including the chicken (it’s still crispy).
This does sound like a great cookbook. I still like using cookbooks and magazines for recipes, you know they are more tried and true. I like giving cookbooks for gifts, too, this is one I want to check out for sure!
