Jambalaya Recipe

Hillshire Farm

*This shop is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group™ and Hillshire Brand Company but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #buy3save3 http://cmp.ly/3/8vNxcO

Dinnertime in our household is always one of the favorite times of day. What’s not to love about comforting scents wafting through the house, as the family gathers to catch up on the day and fill their bellies with one of mom’s home-cooked meals?

safeway,pleasant hill,california

Safeway is one of my favorite grocery stores to shop at, for many reasons. Not only do I love their selection brands and products (and I love their organic choices!), I appreciate that they frequently have money-saving specials on my favorite products. There is currently a great deal on Hillshire Farm products, so naturally I headed to Safeway to take advantage of this!

Hillshire Farm,sausage,savings

Safeway has an impressive selection of Hillshire Farm products, including the Rope Smoked Sausage which I use in my Jambalaya recipe (one of my family’s favorite meals)!

Hillshire Farm,smoked sausage rope,Safeway

When I make this Jambalaya recipe I always use Hillshire Farm Rope Smoked Sausage. I love the rich flavor, excellent quality of this sausage. Others just do not compare (trust me, I have tried!).

Smoked Sausage Jambalaya

Ingredients:

1 package Hillshire Farm Rope Smoked Sausage (cut into slices)
1 lb. shrimp/prawns (shelled and deveined)
1 large chicken breast (cut into 3/4″ pieces)
1 can Cream of Chicken Soup
3 cups chicken broth
1 1/2 cups white converted Rice
1 can diced tomatoes
1 medium onion chopped
4-5 cloves of garlic chopped
3 green onions sliced
1/2 cup chopped fresh chopped parsley
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. onion powder
1 tsp. paprika
1 2 tsp. Creole Seasononing
Olive Oil

jambalaya,ingredients,creole

Directions:

Add olive oil to large skillet and heat to medium. Add yellow onion and garlic and saute until soft (about 2 minutes). Combine shrimp, chicken, sausage and add to skillet. Mix thoroughly and heat through, then add chicken stock, rice, diced tomatoes, cream of chicken soup, creole seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder and paprika. Stir until blended and add parsley and green onions. Cover and simmer for approximately 20 minutes (or until liquid is absorbed and rice is tender and creamy).

Serve with garlic bread and salad for the perfect dinner! You can also add a dollop of sour cream on top for added flavor.

In addition to enjoying quick and healthy meals, I also really like to save money (who doesn’t?). Right now at Safeway, you can save $3 when you buy ANY THREE participating Hillshire Brands products (please note that you must be signed up for the Safeway “Just for U” program at Safeway so you can take advantage of this money-saving deal)! If you haven’t already signed up for this program, you will definitely want to, as it will save you money on fantastic deals…every day!

The best part is you can mix & match! With all of the varieties of Hillshire Farm products, mealtime definitely won’t be boring! With the Buy 3 Save 3 promotion, it is a great time to stock up on your favorite Hillshire Farm products. I hope you enjoy the above Jambalaya recipe, and don’t forget to try a few of the delicious, quick and easy recipes on the Hillshire Farm website as well!

Great deal on Hillshire Farm, and if Safeway was in my area, I’d take advantage of it, for sure. One of my local stores often has buy-one-get-one deals on Hillshire Farm products, and I stock up on their turkey kielbasa. I love the turkey variety because it’s lower in fat and I don’t have to pre-cook it to drain off the fat before I add it to rice dishes or casseroles.
