Dinnertime in our household is always one of the favorite times of day. What’s not to love about comforting scents wafting through the house, as the family gathers to catch up on the day and fill their bellies with one of mom’s home-cooked meals?

Safeway is one of my favorite grocery stores to shop at, for many reasons. Not only do I love their selection brands and products (and I love their organic choices!), I appreciate that they frequently have money-saving specials on my favorite products. There is currently a great deal on Hillshire Farm products, so naturally I headed to Safeway to take advantage of this!

When I make this Jambalaya recipe I always use Hillshire Farm Rope Smoked Sausage. I love the rich flavor, excellent quality of this sausage. Others just do not compare (trust me, I have tried!).

  6. We love Jambalaya in this household. I have never added cream of chicken to it. I think that may give it a creamier taste than old recipe.

  7. I had Jambalaya for the first time last week & love it!
Thanks for posting the recipe so now I can make it.

  8. we don’t have a safe way near us, but i have always wanted to make a jambalaya! i can never find creole seasoning either, i just end up making my own. just made chicken soup for dinner though!

  9. i use hillshire farm as my go to meal meat, i use it to make fried rice especially. or just mix up with potatoes, peppers and beans.

  10. It looks so delicious I want to go to the store right now and get some Hillshire Farm Rope Smoked Sausage and make it. Thanks for reminding me to look for it next time I shop.

  11. i love this sausage just plain on white bread, it’d never make it in the house long enough to get into the jambalaya…but i do love jambalaya.

  12. I have honestly never heard of Jambalaya, but it does sound quite good! My family purchases Hillshire farm smoked sausage on occasion, so perhaps I’ll give this a try! No Safeway stores near me though 🙁

  13. Your recipe for Jambalaya sounds great never thought of using cream of chicken soup in it, but I bet that it makes it smoother and thickens the Jambalaya, think I will try this

  14. Our grocery store has Hillshire Farms on sale quite a bit…it’s usually buy 3 for $10 and you can pick whatever you want. I have never made jambalaya though….I always thought it was one of those dishes best sitting on the stove/crockpot for hours. I will have to try this.

  15. I’m thinking this recipe is definitely better than the stuff that comes in the box. It sounds really good and we love jambalaya at my house. Thanks.

  16. That looks so good! My family would make this disappear in no time if it showed up on their dinner table! 🙂

  17. Hillshire is a sausage that I buy all the time. I have never made jambalay before but have eaten it. I will have to make it as we like rice too but I may cut down on the spices because of my stomach. thanks for the recipe . I pinned it too

  18. I love Jambalaya and to me making it is so much fun. I like mine a bit spicy too. Ok now I want to make some for dinner. I have some Hillshire Farm Smoke Sausage in my freezer right now..

but not me i hate sausage..lol

  20. When we lived in Oregon I loved shopping at Safeway. Sadly they don’t have any stores here in the South where i live. I have never cooked with Hilshire Farm sausage before, nor have I had Jambalaya. But it certainly does look delicious.

  21. I’ve never had Jambalaya before but that looks really tasty and I love Hillshire Farm meats so I am sure it’s delicious.

  22. I’d like to try this but I don’t know if Hillshire Farms makes turkey sausage… I have seen it in other brands and I’d prefer to use that as it is lower fat content 🙂 I love jambalaya! We don’t have a Safeway here but I’d still buy the things to make the recipe 🙂 Thank you for sharing the recipe!

  23. I leave out the shrimp (allergies) but the rest looks the same as my jambalaya recipe!! Only Hillshire Farms sausage goes in my jambalaya!!

  24. Great deal on Hillshire Farm, and if Safeway was in my area, I’d take advantage of it, for sure. One of my local stores often has buy-one-get-one deals on Hillshire Farm products, and I stock up on their turkey kielbasa. I love the turkey variety because it’s lower in fat and I don’t have to pre-cook it to drain off the fat before I add it to rice dishes or casseroles.

  25. my family likes food with a lot of flavor. the only thing I see in this recipe that would put it over the edge for me and make it too spicy hot would be >>1 2 tsp. Creole Seasononing>>>is that 1/2, 1 to 2 or 12 tsp.??

  26. Recipe looks yummy! I find recipes with the Hillshire Farms sausage turn out even better if you smoke some when you grill and use it throughout the week!

  27. I always use hillshire farm when i make anything like this, I just cant use as much spice! Thanks for sharing!

  28. I have never tasted Jambalaya but it looks so warm and filling a meal for a cold day in Wisconsin! My guys would probably love it kicked up a notch with seasoning.

  29. We love jambalaya and use hillshire farms for breakfast, lunch and dinner..sandwiches, casseroles, SO many things but jambalaya is my fave!

  30. Wow! That looks so yummy and pretty easy to whip together! I will have to keep this one in mind for a nice, cold night!

  31. Sounds really yummy. Tony Cacheres is a great addition to any Creole/Cajun recipe. And of course, Hillshire Farms products are always good.

  32. I would love to make this without the shrimp! I was looking for the Pinterest button to PIN it, but I’m not seeing it. I tweeted it instead, so hopefully I’ll be able to find my tweet. 🙂
