Dinnertime in our household is always one of the favorite times of day. What’s not to love about comforting scents wafting through the house, as the family gathers to catch up on the day and fill their bellies with one of mom’s home-cooked meals?
Safeway is one of my favorite grocery stores to shop at, for many reasons. Not only do I love their selection brands and products (and I love their organic choices!), I appreciate that they frequently have money-saving specials on my favorite products. There is currently a great deal on Hillshire Farm products, so naturally I headed to Safeway to take advantage of this!
Safeway has an impressive selection of Hillshire Farm products, including the Rope Smoked Sausage which I use in my Jambalaya recipe (one of my family’s favorite meals)!
When I make this Jambalaya recipe I always use Hillshire Farm Rope Smoked Sausage. I love the rich flavor, excellent quality of this sausage. Others just do not compare (trust me, I have tried!).
Smoked Sausage Jambalaya
Ingredients:
1 package Hillshire Farm Rope Smoked Sausage (cut into slices)
1 lb. shrimp/prawns (shelled and deveined)
1 large chicken breast (cut into 3/4″ pieces)
1 can Cream of Chicken Soup
3 cups chicken broth
1 1/2 cups white converted Rice
1 can diced tomatoes
1 medium onion chopped
4-5 cloves of garlic chopped
3 green onions sliced
1/2 cup chopped fresh chopped parsley
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. onion powder
1 tsp. paprika
1 2 tsp. Creole Seasononing
Olive Oil
Directions:
Add olive oil to large skillet and heat to medium. Add yellow onion and garlic and saute until soft (about 2 minutes). Combine shrimp, chicken, sausage and add to skillet. Mix thoroughly and heat through, then add chicken stock, rice, diced tomatoes, cream of chicken soup, creole seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder and paprika. Stir until blended and add parsley and green onions. Cover and simmer for approximately 20 minutes (or until liquid is absorbed and rice is tender and creamy).
Serve with garlic bread and salad for the perfect dinner! You can also add a dollop of sour cream on top for added flavor.
In addition to enjoying quick and healthy meals, I also really like to save money (who doesn’t?). Right now at Safeway, you can save $3 when you buy ANY THREE participating Hillshire Brands products (please note that you must be signed up for the at Safeway so you can take advantage of this money-saving deal)! If you haven’t already signed up for this program, you will definitely want to, as it will save you money on fantastic deals…every day!
The best part is you can mix & match! With all of the varieties of Hillshire Farm products, mealtime definitely won’t be boring! With the Buy 3 Save 3 promotion, it is a great time to stock up on your favorite Hillshire Farm products. I hope you enjoy the above Jambalaya recipe, and don’t forget to try a few of the delicious, quick and easy recipes on the Hillshire Farm website as well!

That is a dish I miss making! When I made it, I always used Hillshire too!
That looks delicious! I would love to make it but I bet the kids would find it too spicy. Maybe I should just make it for myself.
Looks a great recipe- chocked full of nutrition and easy to make. I’ve actually never made jambalaya, but I think we’d love it. I’ve had it before in restaurants, and Hubby and I really like Creole flavors.
I make this quite often but heat it up a bit by adding Louisiana hot sauce.
We love Jambalaya. I have to tone down the spices a bit.
This is a really good deal at Safeway and I like Hillshire Farm’s new sausage and I like the savings that I can get at Safeway on these sausages. And I really like your recipe for Jambalaya, it is easy to make and looks delicious. I will have to make this soon!

We do not have a Safeway, but I’ll see if there are any sales around me. Thanks for the recipe!
I have never made or ate jambalaya before so I guess that would be my new recipe of the week. I don’t know why I have never tried it because Hillshire Sausage is a favorite in this house.
We love Jambalaya in this household. I have never added cream of chicken to it. I think that may give it a creamier taste than old recipe.
I love how easy and delicious this recipe is!
this stuff is great with bbq sauce on bread..yummt
I had Jambalaya for the first time last week & love it!
Thanks for posting the recipe so now I can make it.
we don’t have a safe way near us, but i have always wanted to make a jambalaya! i can never find creole seasoning either, i just end up making my own. just made chicken soup for dinner though!
great recipe- love the mildness of hillshire!
i use hillshire farm as my go to meal meat, i use it to make fried rice especially. or just mix up with potatoes, peppers and beans.
Sounds really delicious! Hillshire is the sausage we buy the most in this household.
I haven’t made jambalaya in ages. You’re recipe sounds great!
Thank you! It really is tasty!
It looks so delicious I want to go to the store right now and get some Hillshire Farm Rope Smoked Sausage and make it. Thanks for reminding me to look for it next time I shop.
i love this sausage just plain on white bread, it’d never make it in the house long enough to get into the jambalaya…but i do love jambalaya.
We love jambalaya. Now, I have a new recipe to try. Thanks.
I have honestly never heard of Jambalaya, but it does sound quite good! My family purchases Hillshire farm smoked sausage on occasion, so perhaps I’ll give this a try! No Safeway stores near me though 🙁
Easiest dish ever. I love it when my meals make it look like I worked heart.
I have never tried jambalaya but I think it would be fun to try a new recipe
Your recipe for Jambalaya sounds great never thought of using cream of chicken soup in it, but I bet that it makes it smoother and thickens the Jambalaya, think I will try this
Our grocery store has Hillshire Farms on sale quite a bit…it’s usually buy 3 for $10 and you can pick whatever you want. I have never made jambalaya though….I always thought it was one of those dishes best sitting on the stove/crockpot for hours. I will have to try this.
This sounds delicious. I think my family would enjoy it.
I’m thinking this recipe is definitely better than the stuff that comes in the box. It sounds really good and we love jambalaya at my house. Thanks.
That looks so good! My family would make this disappear in no time if it showed up on their dinner table! 🙂
Hillshire is a sausage that I buy all the time. I have never made jambalay before but have eaten it. I will have to make it as we like rice too but I may cut down on the spices because of my stomach. thanks for the recipe . I pinned it too
I got hungry reading this. 🙂 Wish we had a safeway around here!
I love Jambalaya and to me making it is so much fun. I like mine a bit spicy too. Ok now I want to make some for dinner. I have some Hillshire Farm Smoke Sausage in my freezer right now..

When we lived in Oregon I loved shopping at Safeway. Sadly they don’t have any stores here in the South where i live. I have never cooked with Hilshire Farm sausage before, nor have I had Jambalaya. But it certainly does look delicious.
i live in florida and we dont have Safeway here but I lve this recipe and Ive gotta try it
Our family is a huge Hillshire Farms user!!!! It is great for a quick meal when we are running.
I first had jambalaya when we vacationed in New Orleans. I have been hooked ever since.
I’ve never had Jambalaya before but that looks really tasty and I love Hillshire Farm meats so I am sure it’s delicious.
Well, I am allergic to shellfish so this recipe is out, but I love Hillshire foods!!
I’d like to try this but I don’t know if Hillshire Farms makes turkey sausage… I have seen it in other brands and I’d prefer to use that as it is lower fat content 🙂 I love jambalaya! We don’t have a Safeway here but I’d still buy the things to make the recipe 🙂 Thank you for sharing the recipe!
I leave out the shrimp (allergies) but the rest looks the same as my jambalaya recipe!! Only Hillshire Farms sausage goes in my jambalaya!!
i have never made jambalaya, I would like to try!
That looks so good!! I have to get my Husband to make it this weekend!
Great deal on Hillshire Farm, and if Safeway was in my area, I’d take advantage of it, for sure. One of my local stores often has buy-one-get-one deals on Hillshire Farm products, and I stock up on their turkey kielbasa. I love the turkey variety because it’s lower in fat and I don’t have to pre-cook it to drain off the fat before I add it to rice dishes or casseroles.
I keep kosher so jambalaya sounds terrible to me.
What a great recipe. I love jambalaya but I haven’t made it in ages. We love Hillshire Farm sausage.
my family likes food with a lot of flavor. the only thing I see in this recipe that would put it over the edge for me and make it too spicy hot would be >>1 2 tsp. Creole Seasononing>>>is that 1/2, 1 to 2 or 12 tsp.??
Recipe looks yummy! I find recipes with the Hillshire Farms sausage turn out even better if you smoke some when you grill and use it throughout the week!
The food products are great!
This looks like a great recipe, we love Hillshire Farms, going to give this one a try 🙂
