Scotties Facial Tissue TREES ROCK!

trees

Did you know that for each tree that Scotties Facial Tissues uses to make their product the company plants 3 trees in it’s place?  In the past 50 years J.D. Irving (Scotties parent company) has planted over 80o million trees.  We need their product and Scotties is doing their part to supply our demand and give back to our Earth.  Why?  Because TREES ROCK!

Scotties Facial Tissue has launched its second annual TREES ROCK! Video Contest throughout the US. The TREES ROCK! Video Contest invites individuals or groups of kids in grades 3, 4, and 5 to submit a one-to-three minute video expressing in their own way “Why trees are so important to them, their school, and their community” and “What they would like to see their school do with the $10,000 prize money”. The winning entry will receive $10,000 to be used toward a sustainable project for their school. In addition Scotties will give them their own TREES ROCK! Rock Concert and conduct a celebratory tree planting ceremony at their school.

Last year’s $10,000 winner was Lone Oak Elementary School of Lone Oak, Texas. Through the TREES ROCK! Video Contest, 3rd grader Sarah Shreve created the winning video. The $10,000 prize helped buy trees for her school to provide shade from the hot Texas sun, as well as iPads for all of its students.

What an awesome way to get your kids outside, learning about the importance of trees, and maybe winning that $10,000 for your school! Check out some of last years submissions…

You have until November 29, 2013 to submit your video. I think that it would be so awesome if an Eighty MPH Mom reader won this! You also have a chance to win a $25 Target Gift Card thanks to Scotties Facial Tissue. Right in time for the holidays! Thanks Scotties! Make sure to “like” Scotties Facial Tissue on Facebook for updates to the contest! I can’t wait to see who wins the $10,000 AND rock concert this year!
