Scotties Facial Tissue has launched its second annual TREES ROCK! Video Contest throughout the US. The TREES ROCK! Video Contest invites individuals or groups of kids in grades 3, 4, and 5 to submit a one-to-three minute video expressing in their own way “Why trees are so important to them, their school, and their community” and “What they would like to see their school do with the $10,000 prize money”. The winning entry will receive $10,000 to be used toward a sustainable project for their school. In addition Scotties will give them their own TREES ROCK! Rock Concert and conduct a celebratory tree planting ceremony at their school.
Last year’s $10,000 winner was Lone Oak Elementary School of Lone Oak, Texas. Through the TREES ROCK! Video Contest, 3rd grader Sarah Shreve created the winning video. The $10,000 prize helped buy trees for her school to provide shade from the hot Texas sun, as well as iPads for all of its students.

OMG..since I was a young child I always loved the trees. I would go outside and talk to them, I even named them. They Rock because they are so important to the environment. My oldest sister and I always talked about how much we loved trees. When she passed, my niece gave me her favorite pillow, which I keep in my car. It says “My family tree is full of nuts”.
