As I mentioned above, the recipe is one that my mom used to make – I modified it a bit so that everyone could participate. I was really excited to try a product that I just recently learned of – Jif Whips. Â Although Jif isn’t new, their Jif Whips is part of the lineup of new fun (and convenient) products.
The original dessert was Chocolate Topped Chewy Oatmeal Bars. Basically it is an oatmeal bottom with melted chocolate topping. I decided to layer it, adding more decadence, and of course using one of my favorite products – Jif. Well, specifically, Jif Whips!

Ingredients:
2 cups quick cooking oats
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup (1 stick) of butter
1/4 cup light corn syrup
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tub Jif Whips Whipped Peanut Butter & Chocolate
White chocolate chips
Caramel
Sea Salt
Heat oven to 400 degrees. Mix all ingredients (except caramel, chocolate chips and Jif Whips). Spread into greased 9 x 9 pan . Bake until slightly bubbly, about 8 minutes or so. Let cool down a bit (maybe 5 minutes or so), then empty the whole container of Jif Whips on top of mixture. Let topping sit for about 2 minutes until it starts to melt. Spread topping as it starts to melt. Refrigerate, then melt white chocolate. Spread this over Jif Whips layer, and refrigerate again for 20 minutes or so. Repeat this process with melted caramel. Sprinkle top with coarse sea salt.
Oh my gosh – you should have heard the comments from everyone about Jif Whips! I am not kidding when I say they were smitten with it and pretty much grabbing the somewhat empty container. My sister-in-law finally won. She didn’t know I was watching her when I took this. She was seriously trying to get every last bit out of the container 🙂
I compiled a video that shows just how much fun we had over the Thanksgiving weekend. I also wanted you to see how Jif peanut butter pretty much brought us together in many ways. Not only was our special dessert a team effort, but it encouraged the rest of the family to play board games at our kitchen table, while the rest of us baked. It was truly amazing.
I present to you our Thanksgiving!

~It is incredibly convenient! When you want that chocolate and peanut butter combination (and who doesn’t!), simply grab a tub of Jif Whips and you can quickly make any recipe you’d like.
~It spreads very easily. Our oatmeal bar was just slightly warm when we added the Jif Whips, and we had no problems whatsoever
~The taste – oh my! It is decadent without being too rich. The flavor combination is so, so good. Jif Whips is definitely swoon-worthy!
~It is made by Jif! Need I say more? I know I can count on Jif to use quality ingredients in its products, and they certainly did not let me down with this one.
Did you know that Jif Whips come in other flavors too? Yep! I was delighted to see that in addition to the Peanut Butter & Chocolate combo, they also have Peanut Butter & Pumpkin Pie Spice, Peanut Butter & Salty Caramel, and also plain Peanut Butter Jif Whips! Make sure you keep an eye out for them the next time you are shopping. Trust me, it will make your holiday baking SO much easier!
