When I was a kid, we were outside – always. Using sticks as pirate swords in our swashbuckling adventures, playing wiffleball with a group of neighborhood kids, finding friends in a game of hide-and-seek, swinging, sliding, running; it was a good time. Today is different.

Disturbingly, a new study has found that almost half of preschool age children don’t play outside each day. Furthermore, the children in the study were found to be sedentary 80% of the time that they are at preschool.

Outdoor play is quite important for a child’s development and well-being.
