Now that school is winding down for many and summer is finally beginning, many families are thrilled to be able to enjoy the sunshiny days and the warm, fresh air. However, while we’re spending time relaxing in the great outdoors, we cannot overlook the importance of our children’s education. After all, as parents, we are our kids’ first and most important teacher of all.
I love being able to spend time with my boys and often try to work education into every aspect of our summer play. Whether we’re brushing up on math by counting for a great game of hide-and-seek or we’re putting backyard science experiments to the test, I do my best to ensure that there is some level of learning worked into our summer break. Although many of our “lessons” come rather naturally, there are times where I do like to sit the kids down for some more in-depth learning. Now, I’ve tried to stock our home with an abundance of educational material for this reason exactly but, with so many various options on the market, it can often be difficult to find the best of the best. However, I’ve had the pleasure of working with a rather amazing company over the past few years and I absolutely love that these products are now more widely available just in time for the summertime.
Please allow me to introduce you to Teach My.
For those of you who may be unfamiliar with the brand, the Teach My company was started by a mother who, much like myself, found it difficult to find adequate teaching materials geared towards young children.
Teach My are makers of award winning learning tools that help your child get a head start! Our products teach babies, toddlers, and preschoolers the basic stills, things like; the alphabet, colors, shapes, numbers, reading, and even math! Our aim is to encourage early learning, parent and child interaction, self-esteem, and help children to develop fine motor skills and excellent hand-eye coordination.
While many parents opt to purchase various products from numerous different companies as a way to create their own, all-inclusive kit of sorts, the founder of Teach My decided to use that as an opportunity to provide parents with exactly what they’ve been looking for. The Teach My all-in-one kits were born and truly do give parents a wonderful collection of items to aid them in their quest to make education an integral part of their children’s lives.
When I was first introduced to this particular company, my family and I had the opportunity to put their Preschooler Learning Kit to the test.
Since receiving that first kit, I am proud to say that my little ones have not only broadened their own horizons in terms of education but the time spent working together has since become a regular part of our lives. As parents, we are our children’s teachers and with help from Teach My, we have the necessary tools to assure a steady growth of knowledge. With three full kits, each covering all of the necessities, available for Baby, Toddler, and Preschooler, as well as numerous accessory sets, working an educational program into your very own home is finally a reality for the masses.
Originally starting out with an online store, the Teach My brand has grown to reach amazing heights most recently expanding into the Toys “R” Us franchise, both, online and in-stores nationwide. Today, however, I am glad to be able to share with you that the Teach My company has continued their growth and is now available at one of the largest retailers in the country – Walmart!
As part of the Women Owned initiative, Walmart has pledged to source a multitude of goods from women-owned businesses across the US. As an amazing company started by mom and entrepreneur, Christy Cook, the Teach My products are among those included goods.
“People are looking for reasons to feel good about the company they’re buying from.”
– Pamela Prince-Eason, Women’s Business Enterprise National Council
With so many fabulous consumer habits such as wanting to buy items that are “Made in America,” fair trade, kosher, gluten-free, or organic (just to name a few), we as a society have become accustomed to wanting to be more knowledgeable about our shopping, our spending, and the businesses that we’re supporting. Many companies have taken notice of this and, now, retail labels everywhere are full of eye-catching designs that appeal to the various preferences that shoppers have. We all look for these labels and, in doing so, feel better about our purchases. Until now, however, we were blind in regard to the people behind each of the brands we’ve bought from. There was neither face nor name to go with these products and our purchases were made less personable. Wanting to buy from and, in turn, support those companies that we believed in became a difficult task when walking through the doors of any big retail store such as Walmart and that is part of what sparked the partnership with Women Owned.
Now, when visiting your own local Walmart store, be sure to keep an eye out for the Women Owned logo on various products throughout the aisles. Of course, this leads me back to the, oh so wonderful, Teach My brand.
Officially released in Walmart stores across the country, I am so incredibly happy to see that Teach My products are now more widely available because, at the end of the day, our children and their education is of utmost importance.
The fact that this particular company is, in fact, woman owned and created by a loving mother just makes it that much more special. As mothers, we know what is best for our children and we want to be able to provide them with the best. We want to be able to give our children the tools that they need to grow and to succeed in life and, because of wonderful Women Owned brands like Teach My, we can do exactly that.
I truly cannot even begin to tell you how much I love our own Teach My products and the company as a whole. My family and I have been blessed with the opportunity to, quite literally, watch the brand grow right alongside of our own children and it has been a wonderful experience to do so. Not only have their products given my little ones a greater grasp on the basic educational concepts for their respective ages but we’ve since been able to recommend and share these tools with many of our family members and friends.
We all want to give children the best opportunity to learn, however, many of us aren’t educators by profession and are often left wondering where to begin. That is where Teach My comes in. The playing field is leveled. Now, not only can we give our children a spectacular array of educational supplies (conveniently in a stellar all-in-one kit) but we can give them something far more important – parent interaction.

by taking a weekly trip to the local library,,and going to the reading acitivties they have there
I plan to go to the Museum of Natural History with my grandson. It will be a great learning experience for him.
We have set activities that we want to accomplish each week that we planned out before summer started. We broke it down into categories like reading, science, cooking, etc. and made sure to put one of each category in each week.
I plan on playing lots of games, having set learning times every day and reading with them.
I try to work a little education into everything, whether that is worksheets while I prep dinner, a trip to a museum or zoo, or just hanging out in the backyard talking about the different animals birds and bugs we see everyday!
I try to work it in to everything we do. Like while baking we work on math and fractions.
Lots of library visits!
Our school department offers a free summer camp where they do incorporate education into fun summer activities. My daughter has so much fun doing it.
We are taking library trips and always playing games that offer a lot of teaching.
I like to read books or watch movies or do experiments. I enjoy taking my kids to educational places so that we can keep the learning going.
I would work it in by playing with these toys outside. Maybe make it a part of a fun time out at the park or a picnic lunch.
By sitting down with them and working on educational things together, taking lots of trips around town that include learning opportunities, computer games centered around learning, regular library visits, etc.
By bringing our nature books to life. Trips to the park and conservatory.
I am hoping to keep a learning binder with weekly activities. It’s hard because my kids are different ages, and I really want to focus on my preschool aged child, but the others want to be involved too!
I have a lot of summer crafts planned and I encourage any possible learning while outside especially about weather and nature! We’ve been having so much the past few weeks that I cant wait to see what else this summer holds for us!
My grandson only 2 1/2 so pretty much everything is educational right now. We always do alphabet, color, and number activities. 🙂
We have “school” everyday by writing and finding math in everything we do!
my 4yr old daughter and I do our numbers, letters, colors & shapes..I have a 8 mth old and this would help us out even better..:-)
My kids are teenagers , but I find them more curious and wanting to know more things than they did before. It seems like with my daughter especially she wants to know everything . I feel like I have a 4 year old in the “Why” phase again
I am teaching my girls cursive this summer and my youngest is learning by looking at picture books and having the older ones read to her every day.
We do a little math every day, reading and writing letters to friends and family. We also love hands on anything to stay on track.
I’m currently using ABCmouse program , trying to get him to read and write his name.
I definitely don’t want him to be bored and even though he can relax during the summer, I’ll defnitely work it into our schedule to do an hour here and there of educational activities & this set would be perfect to help 🙂
