The Going To Bed Book – eBook Review

eBooks for children, Kids bedtime books

My family LOVES Sandra Boynton books.  They are our “go to” bedtime stories.  The books have a singsong cadence to them that helps children remember what comes next.  Evan has at least four of her books memorized.  So when I got the opportunity to review the eBook version of The Going To Bed Book, I jumped at it.

Now I must admit that when I first saw the app I wasn’t overly excited by it.  First I had trouble figuring out how to turn the pages and I thought the voice reading the book was a bit dull.  Then I gave it to Evan.  It became obvious VERY quickly that the app wasn’t for me, it was for a preschooler and my preschooler LOVED it.  He listened to the book over and over again.  On every page he figured out that by touching the pictures he could get the characters to do different things.  On one page the steam from the sink fogs up the screen, on another the clothes dresser “pops” and clothes go everywhere.  He figured out all the things I had trouble with and more….oh and he’s 3 1/2.

I can see many this eBook and future Sandra Boynton eBooks becoming a favorite iPod/iPhone app for Evan.

The Going to Bed Book by Sandra Boynton is available in the Apple App Store for either iPod/iPhone {$1.99} or iPad {$2.99}.
