TJ Maxx Secret Santa:
I was invited again this year, to participate in the TJ Maxx Secret Santa program. They didn’t have to twist my arm, as I love shopping at TJ Maxx and Marshall’s and don’t typically need an excuse to go shopping at either store. As a matter-of-fact, I wrote a TJ Maxx Spring Clothing review earlier this year, which also explains my love for this store!
I had fun shopping for my partner, and I would show you the things I bought for her, but since she hasn’t received them yet, I’d better keep my pie hole shut. I imagine she will be doing a post letting you know what she received. I hope she likes them! I can say that I found several things, at some pretty amazing prices!
I recently received the gifts from my Secret Santa {Yakini from The Prissy Mommy Chronicles, and I was really happy – she did an excellent job. We were given a $50 gift card to buy for our partners, and I am always amazed at how many things can be purchased at TJ Maxx and Marshall’s for that amount {or any amount really!}. Apparently she took a peek around on my website too, and discovered that I love kitties, because one of the gifts she sent was a “Cats We Love” 2011 Calendar. I absolutely love this! Not only are the cats adorable, but this is exactly the type of calendar I use each year.
I also received a wine bottler opener set, a cute cup and saucer set, and some lotion – I love all of these!

TJ Maxx/Marshall’s Virtual “Behind the Seams”:
I was also invited to participate in a TJ Maxx/Marshall’s Virtual “Behind the Seams” event. This was really fun – a few bloggers and I shared gifting ideas and shopping tips, and there was even some laughing going on. We did this via Stickam and chat. Did you know that shoppers can score the same must-have gifts found at the mall, but for up to 60 percent less than department and specialty store prices, when they shop at TJ Maxx and Marshall’s? We were each sent a $50 gift card along with a stocking full of goodies. I had so much fun going through my stocking, as it has been YEARS since I have received one. I have been really good and all, but still no stocking!
I went to TJ Maxx the other day and shopped with my gift card. I found so much stuff – stuff for the kids and a few things for myself. I’ve been wanting new sweaters, and TJ Maxx had a huge selection of super cute sweaters, at really great prices. I actually bought 2 sweaters and a Columbia Sportswear fleece jacket. Below are the pictures of one sweater and the jacket – the other sweater is currently in the laundry.
Cute right? The sweater is the type I have been wanting and it is so soft and comfy. I can’t remember the price, because I was so anxious to wear it, that I removed the tags before remembering I would be doing this post. The Fleece jacket is from Columbia Sports wear and at a department store the price would have been $75.00. I got it at TJ Maxx for only $24.99! It is excellent quality and oh so warm.
If you aren’t familiar with TJ Maxx and Marshall’s, I highly recommend that you check them out. Honestly, you can pretty much get all of your holiday shopping done at one of these stores, for much less money. They have clothing, home decor, gift items, food items, and so much more! They get thousands of new products frequently, so you never know what treasure you might find.

Why do you think Marshalls and T.J.Maxx are the better way to Christmas shop.
Is it the unique gift selection, the fresh selection of merchandise throughout the season, or the fact that you can get the same gifts as department and mall stores for up to 60% off?

I love shopping at TJ Maxx and Marshalls.. Great Quality.. for a Great price… I love when I can purchase things very reasonably and know they are going to last!!
I can find so much of what my family wants and needs at our local TJ Maxx (Monroe NY). That is huge when shopping for 5 teens and twenty somethings!!
The stock is always fresh, up to date and hands down beats other department store prices. Can’t beat that!
I’d say it is the price…why pay retail prices when you can get such great prices for identical items at Marshalls or TJ Maxx.
We don’t have a TJ Maxx in Olympia, WA but we do have a Marshalls…and I love it there!
I love TJ Maxx (I like Marshalls too). One of my favorite things there is their selection of luxury blankets. I was also surprised to find highend cosmetics there the other day … you really never know what you are going to find.
What a great job you both did for each other. I lov TJ Maxx too, it’s an amazing company that has really great stuff!

I miss living in Ohio just because of TJ Maxx! I’ve been shopping there as long as I remember…..the name brands for such a great price is my fav! I am also in love with their amazing collection of purses!
I just started shopping at T.J. Maxx this past year and I was shocked how nice their stuff was! I always thought it would be low quality but I was so wrong. You get high quality merchandise for a great price!
Every chance I get I CHECK OUT TJ maxx.I found designer purses,great clothes at reduced prices ,even Caramel Gourmet coffee really cheap! Its absolutely worth the trip.
I’m all about the $$$$, so I like to find things for less at TJ Maxx.
I love to shop in stores that dont charge you an arm and a leg prices. Being a large family and so many to buy for that is so important to me. I have not had the chance to shop at either store yet but I think I will now that I know about it.
I’ve never been to TJ Maxx, but I love Marshall’s! I can always find something I like there. I’m always looking for a deal, so I love that the prices are much cheaper than department stores!

I love shopping at TJ Maxx (Marshall’s too)! It’s a great place to Christmas shop especially for my mother. It’s her favorite store! I can find a lit bit of everything there from clothes to shoes to house wares. So, you can do just about all your xmas shopping in one spot.
My first out of high school job was at Marshall’s and it took every ounce of strength I had to not spend my entire paycheck there! Such a great store with such a great selection of items in all departments!
TJ Maxx /Marshalls is the better way to shop Christmas because I have FOUR girls and they love the new selections put out so often…they dont see their friends all wearing the exact same thing…which I GUESS is kind of important! For ME…I just love the great quality brands at discount prices! WHOO HOO!
We only have a TJ Maxx around here but I love it. They have a huge selection of clothes and I always find really really good deals! They have so many different things in their stores.
I love TJ Maxx. If you have the patience to sift thru the racks you can find some great things!!! I love the childrens section! I could do some damage with a 50 dollar gift card!!

I went to TJ Maxx recently and was pleasantly surprised by their awesome variety of good quality products with smokin’ prices.

TJM/Marshalls are my all time favorite stores not only for Christmas! I always find great selection and quality stuffs. Their shoes/handbags departments are amazing!
TJ Maxx and Marshall’s is definitely is the better way to do Christmas shopping because you can get more items within a strict budget!
Actually… I don’t even have a T.J. Max where I live! I live in the middle of nowhere. So I can’t really say much about it. I do go out of town sometimes and I should definitely go and check it out. I love your cat calender, it’s cute! =] Secret Santa is always so much fun.
Wow, I think you got some real good bargains for what little you spent. I will have to check this store out. I normally stick with what is in the malls but this is worth the extra drive to see what they have.

Great idea, I think these stores simply are a better way to shop. If they happen to have what you’re looking for, you really can save a ton of money. So far we’ve bought several of our Christmas presents from Marshalls.

the Price and how convenient the store is. Its like a liquidation store imo.
I prefer shopping at TJ Maxx for gifts. You can still get the same name brands, but for much cheaper. Plus, they always have a variety of fun products.
T.J. Maxx and Marshall’s is great to shop at because of the variety and reasonable prices.
I love TJ Max and Marshalls. They are pretty much the only stores I buy purses or jeans from. The ones by my house are always well stocked with current designer items at huge discounts.

I love TJ Maxx and Marshalls because you can find good bargains and agood quality merchandise. My husband gets all his work clothes from there, which really keeps us on a budget.
I think the lower prices for equal quality sound great… to bad they’re not in Canada 🙁

I love TJ Maxx-we buy almost all our home decor and bedding from there. I’m amazed at all the brand names they offer for such great prices.
We don’t have a TJ Maxx but have a Marshalls, I like the idea of saving money when I shop and tha fact the the merchandise changes all of the time.
When I want the best of both worlds (low price & quality) TJ is the place
to be!

I think its because you can get designer merchandise at a much discounted price at TJ Maxx and Marshalls. Which is something you can’t go wrong with if you like purchasing designer clothes but can’t afford it right now.

We do not live near a Marshall’s so I am not real familiar with their selection/proces/ I love T.J. Maxx and I think T.J. Maxx is a better way to Christmas shop due to the great prices on name brand items.

I like TJ’s for their good prices and famous brands.

TJ Maxx is great because you can get the same things as at the mall without paying mall prices.
I’m not much of a shopper. But I like being able to count on TJMaxx and Marshalls for quality, inexpensive baby shower gifts.

I like both TJMaxx and Marshalls although I like TJMaxx a little better and it is also more convenient for me. It is probably my all time favorite store. I have gotten some amazing deals there! (I also love getting gift cards to this store.)
I absolutely love TJ Maxx. Ok, our local store is not the nicest or the most organized or even the friendliest but you can get some serious deals there! Even my teen daughter who hates shopping (I know, u think a girl would like to shop) loves TJ Maxx. You can just get the coolest things there for fantastic prices.

I ALWAYS find the cutesy designer shoes and purses at TJMaxx…that’s the main reason i love them. Then there are the kids clothes and toys, and home decorating and kitchen items, too. Love it!,

I love that every time I go in that store, everything is different. Though it can work against you too, if you love an item, you have to snag it RIGHT AWAY or it will probably be gone next time you go back. I love the great prices, and the name brand merchandise. I got my $140 Ugg-style boots there for $30 last year at the winter’s end clearance. I LOVE those boots still, they’re warm and sooo comfy, and I paid the same amount you would pay for a cheap knock-off at Walmart.
i’ve never been to a Marshalls, but i like TJ Maxx. They have great prizes and unusual selection. i really like their housewares, and holiday gifts. i’ve found some great deals on clothing as well. it’s always good to save money!
While I definitely love the discounted prices – my fave thing about shopping at TJMaxx is the crazy selection – you never know what high-end beauty supplies you’ll find!

What I love about Marshall’s is not only do they have discounted prices…..but then they even have a clearance, I’ve bought shirts and pants for less then $10. Who can beat that. I love my local Marshall’s

I love TJ Maxs. My sister turned me on to the store 2 years back. She couldn’t believe I was paying high prices for the designer brands that TJ Maxx has a deeply discounted prices. The quality is great, store is always clean, and I love that the inventory is always fresh and new!
I thin you can find the perfect unique gift for anyone at these 2 stores – and save a bundle while you’re at it! It is a win-win situation for gift shoppers – even if the gift is for yourself!
I have shopped at Marshall’s for years. The best part is name brands for so much less! I can’t believe some of the deals I have made there.
Stores like TJ Maxx are so nice for those name brand items that have ridiculously high markup in traditional department stores. The quality is usually just as good, so it doesn’t make any sense to pay more!

I totally love TJ Maxx at Christmas time. My son is very difficult to buy for, but TJ Maxx always has a big collection of unique college-themed stuff, and it’s different every time I go there, so that’s a huge help for me!

I love TJ Maxx too, and thankfully my teen does, so we save tons of money come school clothes shopping time. I dress my toddler in TJ clothes too and people always marvel at his cute little wardrobe.
