The flames look quite realistic with 5 brightness settings and 9 color settings. We each have a favorite in my house.
The orange setting is more of a natural fire and flame color. I find it to be very soothing after a long day of mothering.
My youngest LOVES the color purple setting and he will change it on us when he enters the room.
My oldest likes the bright white flame because it compliments the other neutral tones in the room and I agree.

The remote is super simple and easy to use. It allows you to increase heat settings, change colors, and everything you can do with buttons on the actual fireplace.
The buttons on the fireplace are hidden very well and since I don’t really want the children touching the fireplace, we love the remote.
Smart Home Compatible
No, I don’t have a smart home, but you can synch the Touchstone fireplace with your phone. It allows you to set timers and gives you full control via your smart phone.
Heat Output
My family knows that I love to stay toasty warm in my home so heat output was extremely important. This fireplace blows warm to hot air and fills up my entire lower level.
My living room is quite drafty, so the fireplace is not only beautiful but also functional.
It adds great value to my home.
Easily Replaceable
My previous fireplace was not only ugly, but it was hard wired into the electric!
Unlike my previous outdated electric fireplace, the install was very easy once the contractors created an outlet for it.
Now, if I ever need to replace it, I can pull it out and plug the next one in.

Cleaning and Maintenance
It’s not that easy to clean the inside of the fireplace because you will need to remove the front cover in order to get behind the glass.
There are two awkwardly placed screws on each side that need to be taken out, then the whole front plate slides up and off.
I will probably never remove it until my next DEEP home cleaning.
