When it comes to cooking and flavors, I always have a blast trying new things. Cooking sauces are always fun, because I can get creative in the kitchen, and use flavors I have never used before to spice things up a bit!
Veri Peri cooking sauces are sauces I had never heard of, so of course I was intrigued. I received a variety of sauces to try out and am excited to share my thoughts with you! But first, a little information about Veri Peri:
Veri Peri is the number one sauce brand in South Africa and a staple in the homes of its people. Bringing Veri Peri to our tables here in the United States has been a collective effort. Made with the incomparable African Bird’s Eye Chili, Veri Peri, is in a class all its own. Veri Peri is an emulsion and can does not separate when used in cooking. This means that, unlike other hot sauces, Veri Peri can be used as a marinade, an ingredient in your favorite recipe, or simply as a condiment that guests can add as they please to burgers, chops, dips, or even soup. Veri Peri is manufactured by the South African company, All Joy. For over twenty years All Joy has built a reputation of quality ingredients and a fair price. All Joy’s motto is “Value makes friends and Quality keeps them”. It is our intention to bring that friendship to each and every American.
I had a hard time deciding which one to try first – they all sounded so good! Since we are big garlic fans, the garlic sauce is the one we tried to begin with. It has such a bold, garlic flavor and quite a zip to it! It is also a perfect sauce to add to vegetables! I could just kick myself though – in all of my excitement to try this, I failed to take a picture.
The Lemon & Herb was the next one we used, and we marinated chicken breasts in it and grilled them. Oh my goodness – what a fantastic flavor! The ingredients in Veri Peri sauces are top quality, and I was reminded of this each time I took a bite!
We have only done a small taste test with the mild, hot and veri hot, and they are so good. we will probably be using the mild the most. Since we do a lot of grilling, I imagine we will be using this on chicken as well. All Veri Peri sauces can be used as marinades, or dipping sauces. I cannot wait to introduce my friends to these – I have a feeling they will be as pleasantly surprised as we were at how unique and yummy these are!
