Big Fish Games has taken well loved Grimm Fairy Tales and transformed them into a fun interactive app for kids. ZapTales: Interactive Fairy Tales is a free app for your iPhone and iPad. It comes with the Frog Prince to start you out which is a favorite in our house.

There is a little symbol in the upper right corner that shows the child that they are on a page that you can play with. Sometimes it is stickers to drag into the story, sometimes it is coloring the page. On this page if you touch the bird it will chirp, touch the sun and it will spin, touch the rabbit and she will pop up. There is a ton more to do but I am not telling what because I want you to find it all for yourself! Zaptales Interactive Fairy Tales is super cute and I enjoyed watching my girls figure out all the new activities they could find. We’re still finding new surprises we hadn’t seen before.
The only part that I didn’t care for was the banner on the bottom of the page. My 3 year old loves to hit buttons and I (her) have bought things without ever knowing it. Until I see the charge. I have my iPhone pretty locked down so it can’t happen anymore but it is there. However ALL the stories are banner free! With titles you can purchase like The Elves and the Shoemaker, Rumplestiltskin, Rapunzel, and King Grisly Beard the app gives your children hours of entertainment.
We are pretty excited to see what new stories will be coming. There is a reason that Zaptales Interactive Fairy Tales has an almost perfect user rating. This app runs smoothly, gives you many options, and holds the childrens attention. Big Fish Games offers a broad selection of interactive games that you can enjoy anytime and anywhere. My girls have read and listened to these stories almost everyday since we downloaded it on my iPhone. It is just the type of app that I like my girls to play with, educational and creative.
