Now that the weather is warming up in most parts of the country, it is time to start thinking about barbecues, parties, good times and friends! Where do you start to get inspiration for summer parties? Well, one good place to start is a costume store. Many of them {such as Costume Supercenter} have more than just costumes…they have decorations and supplies too! Just think about it, you can come up with some great ideas for themed parties and events {and possibly be the envy of all of your friends!}.
July 4th is just around the corner – pretty much one month away – and there will be parties galore. Decorating with red, white and blue is fun and patriotic, but to really spice up your party or get-together, you might want to line the walkway to your house with the American Flag, and little flags. Or you could even hand the flags out to guests to wave in the air while watching fireworks. The sky is the limit really {pun kind of intended}. One fun idea would be for family members to dress alike by sporting matching costumes, hats, etc. How cute would that be?
Even if you have no plans for a party this 4th of July, there will be plenty of parades to attend, and patriotic costumes and flags would be fun for those as well.
One of my all-time favorite summer parties is a Hawaiian Luau. If you haven’t been to one or hosted one, I hope you get the chance this summer. They are a blast! From the fresh pineapple to leis, to grass skirts, this type of party makes you feel like you are in tropical Hawaii. I personally would serve Pina Coladas and Chi Chis too and perhaps play some Elvis Presley music – ‘Blue Hawaii’ is perfect 🙂 Oh, but in case you are wondering, I will not be doing a hula dance. Believe me, nobody wants to see that…

I think it’s really cute when people line their driveways with flags. I love all the fun festive touches of summer!
