I put this little goodie bag together last night for our son’s last day of school celebration this morning. His entire class (like most kids) is obsessed with, the Disney movie, Frozen; so much so, that they actually themed their graduation ceremony around the film. Of course, I was racking my mind (and searching Pinterest) for a great treat idea. At the same time, I was trying to avoid the extremely popular ideas for sake of saving our son’s “I want it to be a surprise” aspect. After coming across only things that I’ve already seen before, we opted to get creative and go our own route. One of the easiest class treats that we make quite frequently are snack bags and decorated bag toppers. I love that, in addition to providing a great class treat, it also allows your child(ren) to put to use their learned skills of writing, cutting, gluing, etc. We started with our son’s favorite character from the film – Olaf – and I went on a trusty Google search. After finding a movie scene photo that worked perfectly, I went to work. We had decided on Goldfish for the snack (healthy, easy, allergy-free) beforehand so I had to work in the fishy aspect of it with the Frozen theme and this is what I came up with.

It says:

I am so glad you were in “school” with me.
Enjoy your adventure out to the un-Frozen sea.

We printed this out on plain cardstock and added an extra photo onto the back with a blank space for our little guy to sign his name.

I think they came out quite wonderfully and, after dropping them off at school this morning, I’m even more excited about them. As I left the classroom, I could see our son showing the goodies to all of his friends and even had a few parents catch me on the way out to comment on how cute they were. Usually, I’m all for the “I found it on Pinterest!” phrase but, this time around, it was all momma and son. As much as I’d love to hang onto all of my awesome ideas and keep them a coveted secret forever, ideas only become great when you share them. And that, well, that brings me to this post. If you’re looking for a great Frozen way to celebrate the end of the school year, here it is! You’ll need the following:

  • Ziploc Snack Bags
  • Goldfish snacks (one big box per 10-12 students)
  • Crayons, colored pencils, or markers
  • Stapler
  • Printer & Paper

Print out one bag topper per child and cut off the excess paper along the dotted line. I also trimmed up the sides for personal preference but you can just as easily leave them as is if you’d like. From there, fold the paper in half and have your child write his or her name on the back of each bag topper next to Olaf.

Fill each bag with the Goldfish snacks, close the bags, and staple the bag topper onto each – voila! We did add small sand buckets to go along with each snack bag for a bonus surprise. This is how our own final treats came out.
