How To Train Your Dragon 2

Today is the day!

DreamWorks’ How To Train Your Dragon 2 is officially in theaters and I, for one, am quite excited about that.

How To Train Your Dragon 2
Despite the original film being released five years ago, it was only recently that I sat down to watch it. And, long story short, my kids and I absolutely loved it. As the mother of boys, dragons have found a regular existence in our home. That being said, more often than not, dragons are portrayed as big, scary creatures that don’t exactly mesh well with the younger age groups. Thankfully, this film breaks that cliché mold and the dragons are the center characters within the story, including the lovable Toothless.

After conquering the challenge of uniting dragons and Vikings, we left our favorite duo five years ago, right there, on the island of Berk and, now – they’re back! Hiccup, having never really fit into the Vikings’ longstanding traditions of dragon slaying, partners back up with his trusty dragon pal, Toothless, and they venture off into the unknown. Soon, the once lighthearted journey of play and discovery turns into an epic battle for the ages.

How To Train Your Dragon 2

“The thrilling second chapter of the epic HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON trilogy brings us back to the fantastical world of Hiccup and Toothless five years after the two have successfully united dragons and Vikings on the island of Berk. While Astrid, Snoutlout and the rest of the gang are challenging each other to dragon races (the island’s new favorite contact sport), the now inseparable pair journey through the skies, charting unmapped territories and exploring new worlds. When one of their adventures leads to the discovery of a secret ice cave that is home to hundreds of new wild dragons and the mysterious Dragon Raider, the two friends find themselves at the center of a battle to protect the peace. Now, Hiccup and Toothless must unite to stand up for what they believe while recognizing that only together do they have the power to change the future for both men and dragons.”

Starring all of our favorites as well as some great new additions, How To Train Your Dragon 2 includes the likes of wonderful talent such as Jay Baruchel, Gerard Butler, America Ferrara, Jonah Hill, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Craig Ferguson, Kristen Wiig, and T.J. Miller. The film was directed by Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois while being produced by Bonnie Arnold. With such an incredible compilation of brilliantly artistic folks, how could it not be outstanding?
