Filtrete Odor Reduction Filters – for a fresh smelling home

There is nothing worse than walking into a home and being hit with a pungent odor.  Whether that smell is caused by pets or just stale air, it just doesn’t make a house feel “homey”.  It can also be downright embarrassing. I think we all enjoy the smell of fresh, clean air, so whenever I get the chance (and when the weather allows), I open all of the windows in the house to let the fresh air circulate.  When weather does not permit though, it is good to know that there are other options.

Filtrete Odor Reduction Filters are something that I plan on using in my house. If you read my blog, you probably know that I have three indoor cats. Although I change the litter boxes frequently, sometimes a faint odor persists. I typically light candles to make the air more tolerable, but that is just not enough. I want clean air. I also recently learned that some scented candles contain chemicals. I was unaware of this, but I am glad to know, as I want my family to be safe.  I don’t want them to breath in any unnecessary chemicals.

Healthy Living Expert, Lisa Beres, has shared her fabulous healthy living tips, and I have found so many of these tips helpful.  I plan on trying a few of them in my own home:

To reduce odors in the refrigerator (perhaps old or forgotten food), add a few drops of natural dish soap to a bowl of baking soda and stir until a paste is formed. Place this bowl in your refrigerator to remove odors! As much as I hate to admit, sometimes leftovers get shoved to the back of the refrigerator, and the odor is very unpleasant. This natural solution is so easy, and I am excited that I won’t have to worry about those pesky odors!

Another tip that I am super happy about is preventing ants from entering the home. It is always so disturbing when ants come into my home (and my kitchen), but I do not want to use chemicals to get rid of them. Lisa suggests making a line of coffee grinds, lemon juice, cinnamon or cayenne pepper around doors and/or windows to create a barrier. Ants do not like these items, and this line will deter them and hopefully keep them outdoors, where they belong.

We are fortunate in that none of our family members suffer from allergies. I have several friends, however, who do suffer from allergies and they are miserable. I think they will be happy to learn that household dust, pollen, dust mite debris and mold spores can be reduced by using the Filtrete Odor Reduction filter.

I think these will help our home tremendously!  My kitties, though adorable, do have dander (as pets tend to have) and they leave lots of fur around.  I really dislike the idea of these things floating around in the air (and us inhaling them), so I am counting on the Filtrete Odor Reduction Filters to make a big difference in our home.
