Keep your kids healthy with Pfizer pediatric products

Keep your kids healthy with Pfizer pediatric products
Ahhh yes. I remember well the kids being sick on summer break. Now this didn’t just happen at home, mind you, but usually it happened when we were away from home on an actual vacation somewhere. Why is this?

I have no good answer for that question, but I do have some great solutions – Children’s Advil®, Children’s Robitussin® and Children’s Dimetapp® from Prizer Consumer Healthcare. Sick definitely gets real, but I refuse to give in. I am stubborn like that!

I remember one time, when my daughter was maybe 6 months old, and I decided it would be fun to take a train trip to visit my best friend during the summer. What could possibly go wrong, right? Nothing went wrong on the way there, but the trip back on the train wasn’t quite as uneventful. Apparently my daughter caught some kind of bug. I first noticed when I felt her forehead and she was warm and clammy. Hmmmmm.

I was very anxious to get home, as I knew my daughter had something wrong with her. We boarded the train, found seats and began our travel. About half way home, I had to use the restroom, and really didn’t have much choice but to bring her with me to the “family restroom” so we would have some space to move around. This was SO much more difficult than I had imagined, as she wasn’t walking yet. As we were exiting the bathroom and walking between the train cars, I felt something warm down my shirt and pants. YUP, you guessed it. She had a horrible accident. I was wearing white jeans, naturally (isn’t that the way it always goes?). I hurried back to our seats to, holding my purse strategically in front of me on the way. I was really embarrassed.

I grabbed her diaper bag, and back we went, into the bathroom to try to tidy up a bit. It was no easy feat trying to clean this huge mess off of her and off of myself.

I was so happy that I had packed Infants’ Advil® (for ages 6-23 months), as she was burning up at this point.

Children’s Advil®, is a great option for fevers in kids ages 2-11, and it can also help cold related aches and pains. Children’s Advil® comes in several great-tasting flavors (why, oh why, weren’t all of these flavors available when my kids were little?):   Sugar-free Dye-free Berry, Blue Raspberry, Bubble Gum, Grape, Fruit and Dye-Free White Grape flavors. Also available is Infants’ Advil® White Grape, is for children ages 6-23 months. It provides quick fever relief and has a syringe for easy dosing with little ones.

Of course, I didn’t have a change of clothes in the diaper bag (usually with her, changes weren’t necessary very often), so I also had to find our huge suitcase that was tucked away at the end of the train car. I’m trying to hold her and move other luggage to get to ours. Nobody was helping me!  I had worked up quite a sweat at this point – it was really miserable.  Finally, she had a change of clothes, and I had cleaned up enough, and we were able to return to our seats and continue our travel. She got over her bug quickly, thank goodness, but I wasn’t anxious to travel in the near future!

Sick doesn’t only happen on vacation though. I remember one year for Christmas, my husband and I had bought a new computer for the kids. We spent hours setting it up (new desk and all), and we were so excited to surprise them in the morning.  When I went to wake them up on Christmas morning, they BOTH had nasty colds, including coughs, and they both felt horrible. Unfortunately, I didn’t have any medicine for kids that was aimed at easing coughs.

What would have been helpful is Children’s Robitussin® Extended-Release 12 Hour Cough Relief . Maybe if they had that, they would have been able to truly enjoy their new computer on Christmas morning, instead of just standing at the top of the stairs, looking at the computer, quietly thanking us, then heading back to bed. It was pretty anti-climatic for us, but mostly we were worried about the kids.

Children’s Robitussin® Extended-Release 12 Hour Cough Relief can relieve symptoms (and control coughing) all day long and even all night long.  It is available in grape and orange flavors, and is suitable for children ages 4 and up. Please note that certain Children’s Robitussin® products are only suitable for children ages 6 and up, so make sure you purchase the correct one when shopping for cold relief for your child{ren}.

I can think of several occasions when I wish that I had also had Children’s Dimetapp® Multi-Symptom Cold Relief Dye-Free, to help my poor, snuffly little ones feel better quickly.  This probably would have been the perfect product for my kids that Christmas morning, as it takes care of stuffy & runny noses, AND it quiets the nagging coughs. I think my kids would have been able to at least get out of bed for awhile to hop on their new computer, and enjoy their other gifts. Like the other medicines mentioned above, Children’s Dimetapp® Multi-Symptom Cold Relief Dye-Free comes in a yummy grape flavor (dye-free). Kids ages 6 and up can take this medicine.

I think it is a great idea to keep all of these medicines on hand, because you never know when your kids will surprise you with a cold, cough or fever. I would rather be able to take action right away, than to have to wait until I either my husband or I had a chance to pick some up at the store.

Make sure you keep these medicines on had when traveling too! Summer is almost over for some of us, but there are some families that are still going on vacation, etc. You definitely don’t want to have to try to find a drug store in a strange town! These are perfect for taking on any vacation, whether you travel during the summer or fall months, or during the cold, brisk winter (another time that colds and coughs seem to appear!).

Don’t forget to keep your kids healthy with Pfizer pediatric products – no matter what the season!

A couple of important things to remember when you use the above Pfizer products:

~ Always remember to read and keep the cartons that the medicines came in, so you can refer to them in the future. They contain important warnings and dosage information.
~ Remember to only use these medicines as directed.
~ Keep medicines out of reach of little ones.
