Organic Bistro Frozen Entree Review

November 3, 2011 by Jessie 10 Comments

Organic Bistro

Sometimes it is because I am in a hurry. Sometimes it is because I just can’t stomach PB & J that day (again). Other times though I just want something more “adult” and don’t want to go to a restaurant with my kids in tow. Regardless of the reasons,  there are many occasions that I reach into the freezer for a pre-made entree. As I get older and learn more about how foods are made, I find myself buying more organics. An organic frozen entree that tastes good would be a perfect fit in my life and I found that with Organic Bistro.

Although it was a bit harder to locate in my area the product was worth the search. I decided to try the Organic Bistro Ginger Chicken and the Wild Salmon frozen entree. The Ginger Chicken was delicious with a tangy-spicy orange ginger sauce. Thankfully a bit too spicy for the littles because they were circling me as I was trying to eat. I did let them have some of the whole grain edamame-almond rice pilaf. They asked for more. There was a nice variety of veggies in the medley and the whole meal worked well together.

I let my husband eat the Wild Alaskan Salmon. During the week he eats out way too much and I would prefer to know he is eating healthy rather than eating a hamburger. Not only do I know that the Organic Bistro meals are unprocessed but they also have no artificial flavors. He reported to me that the salmon was tasty with orange sauce (rosemary orange glaze) and he also enjoyed the rice which was a cranberry walnut rice pilaf. Doesn’t that just sound like something you would get at a nicer restaurant? With meals like Savory Turkey with a rosemary-shiitake mushroom sauce, Spiced Chicken Morocco in cinnamon-apricot tagine sauce, or Southwest Style Beef Sirloin Tips there is a little something for everyone.

Organic Bistro’s Mission is to make it easy for everyone to eat delicious, nutrition-rich meals. We make single-serving frozen meals and bowls balanced with the best sources of lean protein, fiber-rich whole grains, plentiful vegetables and healthy fats. Our wholesome organic ingredients keep their flavors because they’re unprocessed. So our recipes taste great without artificial flavorings. Complete, wholesome and satisfying meals are now always an option and ready in minutes.

Visit Organic Bistro to find a store near you! Find them on Facebook and stay up to date on new entrees or occasional contests and giveaways.

Oh, I found from their website that I can find this at my local Shoprite. I think I will look for it on my next shopping trip. Thanks for the review.

These look pretty good! I’ve been really tired of cooking lately, because my husband is always busy and I’m stressed out and worn out from watching the kids all day. Nice to see some premade meals that look like they are good quality.

I just tried the Southwest Style Grass-Fed Beef and it was not good. The flavor was good but EVERY single piece of beef was super chewy. I couldn’t eat a single piece of beef and ended up having to buy some lunch on the run.

Complete crap. I just tried the Southwest Style Grass Fed Beef. Grass fed fat is a better term as it was all chewy fat that tasted like gasoline was poured on it. Don’t wast your money on these Bistro products.

I just tried the “Thai Style Red Curry with Beef” AVOID IT! This is a premium product, but the beef was un eatable. The 10oz bowl had about 1 oz of beef gristle. The flavor of the sause was good but after trying eto chew 3 of the chucks of beef, I had to give up and throw it away. Stay away.
