Rubbermaid Bento Boxes

Every now and then a product comes along and the first word that comes to mind is “genius”. Rubbermaid Bento Boxes immediately made me think of this word, as they are practical, functional, and stylish too! An item this smart really should come as no surprise, since Rubbermaid always seems to stay one step ahead, with helpful products for the home. Good job Rubbermaid!

I was really, really excited for my Rubbermaid Bento Boxes to arrive, because I definitely have a need for storage in my house. Not just for the big stuff, but for smaller items that I use daily. I have been wanting something that looks good enough to display and have handy at all times, to store the items that I use daily. The truth is, most “storage” containers are not-so attractive. With the Rubbermaid Bento Boxes, I can keep my important things at arms reach, and they are stored beautifully in the Bento Boxes.

Typical storage boxes contain your items, but the inside becomes cluttered – making it difficult to find what you need. Rubbermaid’s Bento collection is designed to organize items, rather than just store them. The Bento Boxes have internal flex dividers, which enable you to divide the space by creating unique sections when needed. Boxes can stack vertically, or fit inside each other. Bento Toppers can act as trays, covers or lids, providing an extra layer of organization for the Bento Boxes, or hiding what’s inside. The Bento Collection is made from sturdy materials, and the heavy-duty decorative fabric enables it to remain out in your social spaces while complementing your home’s décor.

Rubbermaid Bento Boxes with toppers are available in three colors. I received the “Paprika” set, but you can also purchase them in “Chadwick” or “Loose Linen”. I am tempted to get a set of each…they would all go very nicely together 🙂

I have so many ideas for the Bento Boxes, but I started with the one that is similar to a shoe box size. It is perfect for my small electronics that I use daily, including my Flip camera, a little point and shoot camera, my external hard drive, and miscellaneous cords. It is perfect!

I can’t wait to fill the rest of my Bento Boxes. I have some great ideas for them! I am going to put magazines and catalogs in the large one, and makeup in a smaller one. The possibilities are endless. I really love how the lids can be turned upside down to make a “work” surface if needed. They are so easy to carry around too, as each box has cut-out handles on the sides.

Here is a neat little video to show you how the Bento Boxes work:
