Lilliputiens Romeo The Well Fed Toad from HABA

Bugsy doesn’t have any many toys. So I was happy to learn we had a chance to review something sweet from Lilliputiens, thanks to HABA. They sent Romeo the Well Fed Toad our way.^[*]

Well Fed Toad Meets Well Fed Baby

Bugsy plays with Romeo every chance he gets! With so much to see, feel, and hear it is no wonder he is so enamored with it! Romeo himself is a bit of a hodgepodge fellow. He is made up of a mix of corduroy-like material, quirky patterned fabrics, and grippy material. He’s got a big mouth {ha!} so he is able to hold all his little foodstuffs and then some. On the back, there is an easy to grip handle for toting around. His stomach features a reflective patch which successfully captivates Bugsy.

While, technically, this quirky toad is Bugsy’s … baby boy is delighted to play with his Sissy. I have caught her sneaking Romeo’s food into her room a few times though. It is nice to see both of them get enjoyment out of this toy. Bugsy seems to be most fond of the little crab and the fly, while Luv simply enjoys feeding Romeo.

Romeo The Well Fed Toad stimulates the senses:

○● Sound: rattles, crinkling paper, and croaking
○● Touch: textured, rough, soft, and smooth fabrics used for touch sensory development.
○● Manipulative action: feeding the toad over and over and over again!

Romeo’s fare is the perfect size for little hands to hold. There is a jingling, grip textured crab. A jellyfish with silky ribbon tentacles. The fish is satin-y and its face’s embroidery offers some texture. The fly is soft with iridescent, crinkly wings.

Romeo the Well Fed Toad is available to buy online at HABA for $47.99. It is recommended for ages 0-12 months, but considering how much Luv enjoys this toad, I would venture to say Romeo will be well loved and well fed well beyond that!
