Teach My Preschooler All-in-One Learning Kit

Spring break is quickly approaching and, for many of our little ones, that means a break from school. As a mom of two, sitting down with our oldest for learning time is hard to come by. “Learning time” for our big boy often means “find something to get into” time for our little guy. However, my son’s education is not something that I take lightly and I have been searching high and low for that perfect product for him and our family.

I recently had the opportunity to try out the Teach My Preschooler all-in-one learning kit and it has done wonders! The Teach My company was started by a mother who, much like myself, found it hard to come across adequate teaching materials geared towards young children. After piecing together her own mini “school” system, the Teach My all-in-one kits were born. With kits available to teach your baby, toddler, and/or preschooler, Teach My most certainly has you and your children covered.

With our oldest currently in pre-k and our little one just about there, the Teach My Preschooler (ages 3-6) kit was a perfect fit for us. Not only does it help my son gain extra practice on the necessary skills for kindergarten readiness but it allows me time to sit down with him to do so. The kit, though geared towards preschool aged children, interests and holds the attention of our little one as well.

One of the best aspects of the Teach My learning kits is that they, truly, are all-in-one. I love the fact that an entire school’s curriculum is easily stored in a durable plastic carry case complete with a latch. Simple storage and easily accessible tools allows for more time to learn. Keeping in the simplicity of things, each topic is sectioned off and stored in individual pouches within the carrying case. This makes it a breeze to pull out all of the needed materials for each subject without creating those ever-so-popular little boy messes.

Printing

Ready to Print is our favorite of the bunch because, after mastering how to write his own name, he has developed quite an interest in writing. With any luck, maybe he’ll grow up to be the next great novelist. Until then, we’ll stick to practicing our upper-case versus lower-case letters with our handy Teach My Preschooler kit. This section includes a magic drawing board and plenty of transparencies (as well as a parent guidebook) to help your child master the art of printing simple lines, curves, letters, and numbers. One of our favorite things to do is come up with short words for him to spell out and trace.

The spelling, of course, ties into the reading aspect of basic preschool learning. Although we are still working on all of our letter sounds, the Ready to Read section has helped him tremendously in school. The Teach My ten-step reading system coupled with the included flashcards has given him a bit of a head-start on reading when compared to others in his class.

Reading

Ready for 1-100 is, by far, our youngest’s favorite part of the Teach My Preschooler kit. Despite his age, he is big on counting – specifically mimicking me while I give his brother the time-out chair countdown but, hey, learning is still learning, right? The big guy is doing quite well with his numbers and, since he is ready to begin the transition to the math portion of numbered learning, I am glad that this section keeps the little one busy. With its many colors, foam numbers, and the incorporation of a numbered choo-choo train and the circus, what’s not to love?

Ready for Math was the most intimidating of the bunch for me. While I have always done very well with the subject personally, I did not think that my preschool-aged baby boy was anywhere near ready for addition and subtraction. Yet, as a constant reminder that he is no longer a “baby,” he happily proved me wrong. The Teach My Preschooler learning kit uses a playground as the scene for our math adventure. Climbing each counter up the slide and, then, down into the sand is a wonderful yet simple approach to learning the basics of math. This section is definitely the one that will take the most work but, since he has fun doing it, I have no doubt that he will be able to pick things up quickly.

Math

I love that the Teach My Preschooler learning kit, as well as the rest of the product line, gets back to the basic idea of parent interaction. Requiring no batteries, controllers, or screen time, the focus is simply on you and your children. That is something that, in today’s world, we really need to have more of. Instead of relying on technology or others, the Teach My company allows parents the ease of being able to further our children’s education right from home. This multi-award winning all-in-one learning kit has helped immensely and has become a regular tool used in our home. If you are looking to give your little big kid a head start while developing fine motor skills and increasing basic school readiness, I highly recommend the Teach My company and their Preschooler all-in-one learning kit.

The Teach My company also offers kits geared towards, both, babies and toddlers as well the Solar System kit for the older age groups. Now, while I cannot comment on the kits for the little ones, there is no doubt in my mind that they are equally as wonderful. I am definitely looking forward to purchasing the Solar System all-in-one kit (including Pluto!) after our boys master the Preschooler kit. For now, however, the “Teach My time” is something that my family looks forward to on a daily basis. From reading and writing to counting and learning the basics of math, there is always some sort of learning going on. For us, that is certainly one heck of a way to live.
