I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Cat’s Pride. I received product samples to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.
We recently adopted two black kittens (brothers), and we already had two indoor kitties, for a grand total of four kitties indoors (and 3 outdoors!). Needless to say, we go through a lot of cat litter, and scooping and changing the litter boxes is something that needs to be tended to quite often. Kitties do not like dirty and smelly boxes – they are kind of particular that way!
I was thrilled to try Cat’s Pride Kitty Litter, and was hopeful that it would make my life a little easier. Or my husband’s, temporarily, as I had neck surgery in June, and I am still a bit limited with how much bending and lifting I can do. I received Cat’s Pride Fresh & Light Fragrance Free litter and Fresh & Light Quick Action Litter (lightly scented) to test out and share my thoughts.
My husband has been awesome with helping me with this chore (hmmm maybe I can work it so I can take a break from this chore a little longer!). If you have cats, I am sure you are familiar with how heavy used litter can be. One reason I am excited about Cat’s Pride Kitty Litter is that it is much lighter (25% lighter in fact!) than other scoopable clay litters. I did test one of the boxes after the cats went a few times – just to see if it really was lighter. It was MUCH easier for me to lift than our previous litter. Oh happy day! I just have to make sure I don’t get carried away and do this too much, since I am still technically recuperating.
It might seem silly to be as excited as I am over the next feature of Cat’s Pride Kitty Litter, but it doesn’t create a huge dust storm when we change the boxes! When using some litters, you can literally see the clouds of dust floating around the air when the litter is disturbed. This just cannot be good for my family (or our kitties). I noticed with the Cat’s Pride Kitty Litter, that the dust is minimal, comparatively speaking.
Let’s talk about smell! Okay, this isn’t really one of my favorite things to discuss, but I cannot stand my house to smell like “cats”. This is especially important when we have company over – I don’t want them to pass out when they walk in the door. Luckily we are sticklers about clean litter boxes, and we have been told that they can’t even tell we have furry critters indoors. That is a huge relief, but I have to admit, that it might be because we probably cleaned them right before they arrived (Shhhh).
Cat’s Pride Kitty Litter is available in non-scented or lightly fragranced. I really like the slightly scented formula, as it keeps the house smelling extra fresh (it is a really nice scent). I don’t think my cats have a preference – they seem to like both kinds equally. Cat’s Pride Kitty litter and its total odor control keeps our home smelling fresher for longer, and that is truly appreciated! It also makes me feel good knowing that Cat’s Pride Fresh & Light litter is the only litter recommended by the American Humane Association.
I am not sure how they do it, but Cat’s Pride has got “quick-clumping” down pat. We can scoop and clean the boxes shortly after the kitties have done their thing, which reduces the mess and keeps the boxes nice and clean for our boys.
Here is our little Chance – one of our kittens. He was born with a deformed leg and is missing his foot. It doesn’t seem to slow him down any, and he gets around just fine. Hopefully he will be okay in the future, but rest assured, we will do everything we can to make sure our little guy doesn’t suffer.
Here is Kaiser – a real whippersnapper! He loves to lounge on my feet while I am cooking, and just always wants to be close-by. He purrs loudly when I hold him, and just has such a kissable face. Both of the kittens do, and it is hard to not smooch them all day long!
These little 4-month old guys are like peas in a pod. They sleep together (usually on top of each other), they bathe each other and of course they play together. It was medically recommended that they be adopted together, and I can sure see why now. They absolutely ADORE each other.
Jake is my fluffy boy. He is 15-years old now, but we have had him since he was 4-months old. He is such a sweetheart and my buddy. He gives the best kitty hugs ever, and has seen me through and comforted me after the passing of my mom and then my dad.
And then there is Newman, who is 7-years old. I’m sure you have read my posts about him – he has quite a following! He is one of the funniest, and cutest cats I have ever had. He is part Siamese and part Tabby, and he is truly unique. He is always into something!
We are one happy household with four very happy cats! With the addition of Cat’s Pride Kitty Litter, we can all breathe a little easier (in more ways than one), and that makes it a win-win for all of us!
