I adore strawberries. I love them dipped in dark chocolate, white chocolate, and most of all, I loved them dipped in milk chocolate. YUM! Several years ago, when someone introduced me to this combination and had me dip strawberries in it, I looked at her like she had a 3rd eye. You want me to WHAT? “Just try it”, she said. Well I did and I have never looked back. Can you guess what these two ingredients might be? I have a feeling that once you try this unique way to eat strawberries, you may never eat strawberries the same way again!
You want to make sure you are using really fresh strawberries – try this trick to keep strawberries fresh longer. Wash and dry your strawberries, including the stems/leaves {yes leave these on}. This should be the first step no matter how you are eating strawberries {obviously}. Take two bowls or small plates. One the first plate or bowl, put your clean strawberries. On the second plate or bowl, add a couple dollops of sour cream and on the other side, make a small mountain of light brown sugar. (you could use dark brown sugar too – I happen to prefer light brown). Instructions continue below photo…
Step 1:
Hold the strawberry by the stem/leaves.
Step 2:
Dip your strawberry in the sour cream.
Step 3:
Dip the strawberry in the brown sugar, coating the sour cream.
Step 4:
Open wide and take a big bite.
Step 5.
Fall in love.
Repeat. Oh my.
If you think this combination sounds kind of strange, that’s what I thought at first too. I couldn’t have been more wrong. I think you’ll agree that you may never eat strawberries the same way again after trying these. In my opinion it kind of tastes like a decadent caramel sauce. Or decadent something! It is simply irresistible.
You’re welcome.

This sounds delicious! The next time we have strawberries I’m going to give it a try.
